As part the post on "Introducing our consortium partners", we bring you its members participating in the European Federation for Welding, Joining and Cutting (EWF) through precision photon distribution project. 👨💼Meet Rita Bola: Rita Bola has a MSc in Mechanical Engineering since 2016, by Instituto Superior Técnico, Lisbon, and a Diploma as European Welding Engineer since 2018. She works at European Federation for Welding, Joining and Cutting (EWF) as head of projects unit, being responsible for the management and implementation of Educational and RTD projects funded under ERASMUS and Horizon Europe Framework Programmes. In the scope of the R3-MYDAS project we will be introducing our consortium partners. To start this series we have European Federation for Welding, Joining and Cutting (EWF). 🤝 European Federation for Welding, Joining and Cutting (EWF) is an international non-profit umbrella industrial association, pioneer in the establishment of Harmonised Qualifications Systems for the training of Manufacturing Personnel, covering areas like Welding, Joining, Cutting and Additive Manufacturing. EWF Qualification Systems ensures that the same qualifications, knowledge and skills are recognised in all European countries and accepted by enterprises, professionals, training institutions and certification bodies.    🛠️ Role in the Project:  In the R3-MYDAS project European Federation for Welding, Joining and Cutting (EWF) is responsible for the dissemination, communication and networking activities. As part the post on "Introducing our consortium partners", we bring you its members participating in the Flender through precision photon distribution project. 👨💼Meet Vili Ryynänen: Vili Ryynänen is a metallurgist, with a M.Sc. Mechanical Engineering and expertise in high-strength cast iron research. Working in the research and development of wind turbine gearboxes has given a broad experience in gear steels, heat treatment, testing (NDT/DT), and metallography. Has been working with wind turbine gearbox prototype testing and component testing, in which main responsibility has been on gear testing topics. In the last month, TMCOMAS organized a meeting with Ziknes at their facilities. 🤝 As part of the R3-MYDAS project, they visited the workshop and got to know the equipment, discussing how to automate the scanning in the laser cladding cell. During the meeting, TMCOMAS demonstrated how the process is currently performed, and the factors involved. Ziknes presented possible ways to integrate the R3-MYDAS solution, and both teams explored the technical requirements to make it possible. ⚙️ These types of collaborations will lead to significant advances in the Oil & Gas study case. 🔔 Stay tuned for more updates. Working in metallurgy, fatigue, NDT, failure analysis and heat treatment topics for multiple years has led to a solid understanding of structural materials in use in wind turbine gearboxes. Specialty in research and development as well as product development. To start this series we have Flender. 🤝 With their extensive expertise in mechanical and electrical drive technology, Flender Finland epitomizes excellence in both products and services. Their commitment to quality and innovation is driven by their dedicated team of high-caliber professionals. Flender is renowned for its comprehensive knowhow in drive technology, delivering top-tier products and services globally. Their innovative spirit and high standards have made them a leader in the industry, continually pushing the boundaries of technology and performance. Emphasizing practical applications in internet technologies, digital transformation, e-business, e-government, e-health, and advanced transport telematics, the department's efforts are embodied in the Intelligent Computer Systems and Applications (ICSA) lab. Framed within the department, the ICSA lab pioneers research and development in intelligent computer systems and applications, contributing to European Digital Sovereignty and a human-centric, AI-enabled society.  🛠️ Role in the Project:  In the R3-MYDAS project, Flender Finland is responsible for one of the study cases, the wind turbine gearboxes, owning research and development activities. In this project scope new materials and design/mitigation methods for failures are created for redesigning, remanufacturing for replacement components.
