Stay tuned for the results! We would like to thank everyone involved in this study, which focused on evaluating the impact of #qER - #AI solution for head CT scans - as a decision support tool for improving report turnaround times and enabling clinicians to make faster treatment decisions for patients with head injuries. We look forward to the valuable insights into the potential impact AI can have in solving #healthcare challenges at scale. 🆕 This week marks a significant milestone with the conclusion of our ACcEPT study. The pioneering study aims to assess the impact of #AI in supporting the interpretation of CT head scans and improving report turnaround times, using Qure.ai’s #qER AI solution. It is hoped that the solution will enable clinicians to make quicker decisions about the onward care, treatment and discharge of patients with head injuries. ACcEPT was first implemented at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital (QEUH) in Glasgow last December, where approximately 4,000 CT scans have been analysed by the qER AI solution to support clinical care during the study. It later expanded to Oxford University Hospital and Northumbria Specialist Emergency Care Hospital, and has now concluded across all three sites. The data will provide valuable insights into the potential impact AI can have on the challenges that #healthcare systems around the world face. Be sure to keep an eye out as we will be sharing more on the ACcEPT study soon! Qure.ai reposted this
🇩🇪 Next week, I will be attending the International AIDS Conference in Munich. If you’ll be there, I’d love to meet. Over the 6 months since I joined Qure.ai, I have had hundreds of conversations with heath-workers, patients, government officials and NGO leaders on the collective resolve to deliver #integrated, #peoplecentred #healthcare. A system of care designed around people, rather than diseases, which recognises that when diseases like #TB and #HIV so often co-exist in the human body, their diagnosis and treatment pathways must, too, co-exist in the same architectural spaces, hospital wings and clinics. They must also co-exist in the minds of health-workers, programme designers and funders, and in the #technologies supporting care and tackling common, often socio-economic, drivers of illness. What has been hammered home for me while visiting health-centres over these last months – from the colourful bungalow of a Community Health Worker, doubling as a screening clinic in northern #Lima, to a quiet side room in a bustling central #Addis hospital – is that ‘integrated care’ means #simplification: care in one place, at one time. For patients it means fast answers to save the agony of waiting for life-altering results, or the economic impact of losing a day’s wages to travel to multiple clinics for vital information and prescriptions. In a recent Devex article, Timur Abdullaev, TB Activist and Consultant for the Stop TB Partnership, put it in strikingly practical terms, describing the impact of a new #digital #Xray machine being installed in the AIDS centre he attends, to test for TB: “It wasn’t there 10 years ago and it’s amazing that they have it now,” he said. “As a person with HIV, I love that I don’t need to go to another place to do the X-ray.” A seemingly simple #innovation, the likes of which are surely reducing the patient loss-to-follow-up which contributes to 30% of #AIDS-related deaths attributed to TB. It’s so exciting to me at Qure.ai to witness these simplifications at work – the rural Community Health Worker providing peer-support to her patient living with HIV who can now use our #AI to screen for TB, or the clinician in an over-burdened hospital empowered with rapid screening data to enable an on-the-spot referral. We know how to #prevent and #treat both diseases. It’s about removing the frictions which stop patients accessing that care. Hundreds more conversations to be had, and solutions implemented, to address these obstacles. Looking forward to continuing the conversations in #Munich – hope to see you there! https://lnkd.in/dr5rb8FX Dr. Shibu Vijayan, Chief Medical Officer of Global Health at Qure.ai, and Dr. Jeremiah Dr. Chakaya, a founding member of the Respiratory Society of Kenya (ReSok), discussed the potential of digitalization, multiplexing, and accuracy in identifying underlying conditions to address #lunghealth and #TB control in this Qureosity episode. They emphasized the need to develop new products and tools to assist clinicians and build models for integrated care using global funds. They also highlighted the potential of digital solutions to identify the underlying causes of conditions and end TB by 2030. Let’s have a look at what Dr. Chakaya discusses in this Qureosity episode.
