QuickVisit Urgent Care is excited for all of you to get to know a little more about our new Behavioral Health Providers! Tara Smith is our dual-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. She has 7 years of combined experience in both mental health and family medicine. She worked 5 years in family practice where she found a passion for treating kids and those with autoimmune and hormonal disorders. Her experience includes diagnosing and treating those with ADHD, depression, bipolar disorder, personality disorders, anxiety, autism, other childhood disorders, and psychotic disorders. Tara has a passion for treating children and those with trauma history. A goal of hers has always been to advocate for those with mental health conditions and break the stigma around mental health. Tara is excited and eager to be a part of the mental health program at QuickVisit. She aims to provide the best care she can and to build a positive patient-provider team. She wants her patients to have a voice in the care they receive and their treatment regimen. Tara states "I want to bring patient-centered mental health care to rural communities and improve mental health care accessibility in Iowa.
