Ultra-low CO2 manufacturing tech to produce cementitious materials from industry standard feedstock at competitive costs
About us
Queens Carbon’s mission is to build a sustainable future by eliminating deep-rooted CO2 emissions in industrial manufacturing and beyond. We’re developing a novel hydrothermal process that dramatically reduces the energy needed to decompose carbonate minerals and allows for the capture of all CO2 produced during the reaction. This low energy solution for carbonate processing creates a commercially viable path for widespread carbon capture projects and carbon neutral cement production. At scale, this technology will enable gigaton-scale reductions in industrial CO2 emissions via avoidance and capture routes. Excited about cutting edge science, saving the environment, and want to have fun while doing it? Consider joining our team! https://queens-carbon.breezy.hr/?

Our CEO, Daniel Kopp, will speak at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory's annual Cement & Concrete Decarbonization event next week in Colorado. The panel, "From Proof of Concept to Commercial Reality" will go through the journey of prototypes to pilots and how to identify and overcome barriers to commercialize technologies. Moderated by Tom Erickson at Imperative Ventures and joined by our friends at Brimstone , C-Crete Technologies, Sublime Systems, and Terra CO2 Technology. It should be an interesting discussion! If you're attending or just in the Denver area next week, July 30-31, please reach out! #NREL #Cement #Concrete #Decarbonization #GreenCement

We are excited to announce that Queens Carbon has been awarded $14.5M grant in ARPA-E Seeding Critical Advances for Leading Energy technologies with Untapped Potential (SCALEUP) program. This provides funding for Queens Carbon to pilot our breakthrough technology with commercial partners in the cement industry. “We know that cement manufacturing requires innovative, scalable solutions to overcome the environmental impacts and logistical hurdles of traditional cement production. Queens Carbon is committed to tackling these challenges,” said ARPA-E Director Evelyn N. Wang. “Through SCALEUP, Queens Carbon will build on prior work funded by ARPA-E and develop an integrated pilot facility at an existing cement production site to produce carbon-neutral materials in support of decarbonizing cement production.” We are honored to be selected from a highly competitive pool of industry applicants to support the scaling of our breakthrough production process to lower the CO2 emissions of the cement industry. This is a big win for our leadership, our team, and our partners. A big thank you Rutgers University, Breakthrough Energy and to everyone who has helped us get here. Onwards and upwards! What a whirlwind. We're still recovering from the the GCCA – Global Cement and Concrete Association's 2024 CEO Gathering and Leaders Conference in Bangkok where we met amazing leaders, ministers, and experts. We were honored to be selected of the GCCA's annual #Innovandi Open Challenge, with this year's focus on new materials for low carbon concrete. Out of over 70 companies that applied and 15 that were invited to pitch, we were one of four companies selected to form a consortium (our consortium includes Cementos Argos, Cemex, CRH, Heidelberg Materials, Holcim, TITAN Cement Group, and UltraTech Cement). Proud to be in great company with our friends at Chement, Neocrete, and EnviCore Inc. who also attended and formed their on consortiums. A special thank you to Devika Wattal for pulling everything together and making this such an impactful event. For our consortium, we are conducting technical feasibility for SCM production from a variety of industry standard feedstocks sourced from our global partners. We were excited to present our technology and initial results at the conference in Bangkok (check it out here: https://lnkd.in/dq9rXbvU ). Oh, and we also got to enjoy Bangkok - great food, friendly people and amazing sites! Stay tuned for more updates soon 😉!
