We published results from our survey of manufacturing industry employees to learn more about their perceptions of the industry; sentiments toward their roles; and feelings about financial wellness and the role benefits play in their overall health. The Wall Street Journal recently published a story about a growing trend among Gen Z students opting to enroll in vocational training programs instead of a traditional college. Rising pay, new technologies and a favorable job market are outweighing soaring costs for a college education, the burden of long-term debt and uncertain employment. Manufacturing employers seeking to fill an increasing demand for skilled labor should consider ways to attract this burgeoning workforce. One effective way to do this is by offering a robust benefits package. 87% of manufacturing employees believe benefits are just as important as salary, as revealed in our recently published 2024 MANUFACTURING FINANCIAL WELLNESS EBOOK. The manufacturing industry is experiencing a landmark period of vibrant change. As the industry continues to embrace new technology, supply chain shifts, and new ways of doing business, we’ve discovered traditional employer-provided benefits like 401(k) and retirement savings accounts are not enough for their employees’ needs. Employers in this highly competitive industry have a unique opportunity to increase recruitment and retention with their benefit offerings. Purchasing Power reposted this
As U.S. manufacturing reshoring moves closer to home, there will be ripple effects such as demand for skilled labor, unfilled job openings, and industry professionals who say the stress is impacting their personal lives. Purchasing Power’s new eBook 2024 Manufacturing Financial Wellness eBook explores how workplace stress affects manufacturing employees emotionally (65%), physically (59%), mentally (57%) and financially (50%). And while 87% report benefits are as important as salary, only 22% receive voluntary benefits from their employer. Manufacturers can utilize these findings to meet employee needs and increase their competitive edge. Access the eBook: https://lnkd.in/epurFMeT
