Can art make us more compassionate and resilient? If you ask us, we say yes! Our Aesthetic Literacy program in Jammu and Kashmir is helping students build their agency and resilience through integrating art into teaching. Our Art-Based Capacity Building and Training (ACBT) initiative by the Directorate of School Education in partnership with School of Education & Systems Change (Piramal Foundation) and The Red Pencil Singapore, also seeks to improve students' mental well-being. At Piramal School of Leadership's School of Education & Systems Change, leadership is not just a skill set, it is an innate power found within us all. For us, Leaders of Transformation are not born, but created, instilled with a sense of duty and the Agency of Purpose, called Sewa Bhaav. Our Chairman, Mr. Ajay Piramal elaborated on what Leadership at Piramal Foundation, the Piramal School of Leadership and SOESC means, at the Delhi launch of Dr. R Balasubramaniam's book, 'Power Within: The Leadership Legacy of Narendra Modi,' in New Delhi, on June 28. Dr. R Balasubramaniam is Member HR, Capacity Building Commission, Government of India. Drawing inspiration from Eastern philosophies on the concept of leadership, Mr. Piramal emphasized on the 5 S's of leadership and highlighted how self-transformation, inspired by compassionate thought, can drive systemic change. Through the analogy of an iceberg, Mr. Piramal said that true leadership is found hidden deep beneath the surface, providing strength and stability. #Leadership #BookLaunch #LeadershipDevelopment #SOESC #SchoolofEducation #PSL #PiramalSchoolOfLeadership

At PiramalSchoolOfLeadership’s School of Education & Systems Change, we believe that each one of us has the innate potential to become 'Leaders of Transformation.' We believe that leaders are not born - they are created. They take shape. Over the last 15 years, we've learned that we need great leaders at each tier of the education system to create future-ready schools and institutions. To that end, our Centre for Leadership Development (LEAD) helps education leaders by developing in them an innate Sewa Bhaav (Agency to Serve), setting them on the path of self-change. This essence of Leadership, born out of a sense of purpose, was the core area of focus at the Delhi launch of Dr R Balasubramaniam's book, 'Power Within: The Leadership Legacy of Narendra Modi,' in New Delhi, on June 28. Dr. R Balasubramaniam is Member HR, Capacity Building Commission, Government of India. And it was at this event that our Chairman, Mr Ajay Piramal, shared an elegant insight into what it means to be a Leader of Transformation. Drawing inspiration from Eastern philosophies on the concept of leadership, Mr Piramal highlighted principles like Sadachar (Alignment with Values), Shiksha (Alignment with Learning), and Sadhna (Alignment with the Self) and of course, Sewa (Alignment with Purpose). It is with pride that we say that these principles form the foundation of what we believe at Piramal School of Leadership’s SOESC. This ethos is also exemplified in the work that Piramal Foundation is doing to build Bharat. #Leadership #BookLaunch #LeadershipDevelopment #SOESC #SchoolofEducation

Our current education system frequently neglects the emotional well-being of students, failing to recognize that Fostering emotional health can support students' overall well-being, which in turn enhances their academic success. Mohan, a 17-year-old from Chirawa Block, Jhunjhunu, faced a similar struggle. Overwhelmed with his emotions, he turned to smoking. Students like Mohan can often feel isolated and unsupported. That's where we comes in. We recognize the need for emotional wellbeing and empowers educators like Ayesha Ali to identify students like Mohan facing challenges. Our mission is to make education future-facing and help equip students with the social and emotional tools they need to thrive. With Ayesha’s support, Mohan overcame his addiction, regained his self-esteem, and now leads a healthier and happier life. Stay tuned for more inspiring transformations!
