The larger the system, the more crucial its smallest components become. Last Friday, a routine update turned 8.5 million Windows devices into expensive paperweights. With nearly 60% of Fortune 500 companies and over half of the Fortune 1,000 relying on Crowdstrike’s services, the impact was far-reaching. Eight of the top 10 financial services firms and an large number of leading tech companies found themselves in the crosshairs. It wasn’t an attack, but simply a hiccup (a big one!) This isn't unique to cybersecurity - it's a challenge for any tech company operating at scale. 𝐖𝐡𝐞𝐧 𝐲𝐨𝐮'𝐫𝐞 𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐩𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐦𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐝𝐞𝐯𝐢𝐜𝐞𝐬, 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲 𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐞 𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐬. We’ve helped companies scale. And there’s a few first principles we abide by while getting it done 👇 🔸While moving fast, we don’t forget to be smart about it. We help everyone understand critical migration decisions. 🔸 Break things on purpose 🔸 Gradual rollouts — One device, then 100, then 1000, watch it all VERY closely. 🔸 Failsafes need to be everywhere (Having a plan B through -> Z is unrealistic but we try to go as far as we can) 🔸 Analyze each incident. Use data to refine processes. A sneeze in one corner of the world can cause a flu in the other — that’s the reality of the world we live in. 💡 The good news is that you don’t need to solve these problems alone. If you have some unique problems of your own, logic dictates that you acquire a long-term technology partner with real experience tackling these exact problems! Schedule a call with us and we’ll give you a clearer picture ➡️ https://lnkd.in/g4xk7ZFW #Crowdstrike #IT #Windows

Vercel's AI SDK 3.0 is revolutionizing the way developers create user interfaces by introducing Generative UI support. First showcased in their v0.dev GenUI design tool last October, it effortlessly transforms text and image prompts into fully functional React UIs. By open-sourcing v0's Generative UI technology, Vercel empowers developers to go beyond simple chatbots and create rich, component-based interfaces powered by LLMs. What does this mean? Let’s dive deeper into GenUI first 🔎 At the core of Generative UI lie two essential concepts: ➡️ AI State and UI State. 🔸AI State is the JSON data passed to the LLM as input, accessible on both the client and server sides. 🔸 UI State, on the other hand, is a collection of text and components returned by the LLM backend, exclusively accessible on the client side. This means you can stream React components from the server to the client as part of the LLM output and interactively update the LLM input from the client side. The possibilities are endless 🤯 ⭐ Personalized eCommerce interfaces ⭐ Interactive data visualization tools ⭐ Context-aware virtual assistants ⭐ Adaptive educational platforms Don't just take our word for it – check out this incredible demo 📹https://lnkd.in/dzZ6-QSc We’re excited to see how GenUI redefines how we interact with digital products and services! Ready to take your user interfaces to the next level? Schedule a call and speak to our team 📞 ➡️ https://lnkd.in/g4xk7ZFW

Deploying local LLMs solves a lot of problems for your company. But before you jump on the AI bandwagon, let's pause 🤔 Would you build a house without a blueprint? Of course not. The same principle applies to AI adoption. You need a plan! Local LLMs offer powerful advantages. Privacy. Control. Customization. Yet, like any tool, they're only as good as your strategy. Despite a tough year for AI hardware and ongoing debates about AI's role [Feature or Product?], you don't need all the answers right now. What you do need is a thoughtful approach. These questions are your starting point ⬇️ 🔶 What problem are you trying to solve?  Apple has shown that AI isn't just a standalone app – it's an integrated experience. What specific challenge in your business could AI address? 🔶 Have you assessed the risks?  Diving into AI comes with potential pitfalls. [Privacy concerns/ Ethical issues/ Unintended consequences]. Spot your danger zones now. 🔶 Is your data primed for action? Ensure you've sourced, cleaned, and formatted high-quality information that aligns with your system's specific needs and training objectives. 🔶 Have you pressure-tested your business case?  Assumptions can be dangerous! What exactly do you expect from AI? Are those expectations grounded in reality? 🔶 How does AI target new opportunities for you? Think beyond efficiency. Could AI open entirely new revenue streams or markets? 🔶 Are you measuring real value?  Having a local chatbot isn't a success. How will you quantify the actual impact on your bottom line? 🔶 Can you keep pace with change?  Your strategy needs to be flexible. How will you stay ahead of the curve and adapt to new developments? So, what's your next move? Start asking these tough questions! ⏭️ Next up, I’m planning to explore AI video generation. The demos flooding in are mind-blowing 🤯 If you're experimenting with it, I'd love to hear your thoughts and explore this hot topic together!

Tinkering with local LLMs is exciting! But as a decision-maker for your business’ trajectory, you're looking for tangible results 🎯 Results that directly impact your bottom line, streamline operations, and give you a competitive edge in your industry. While you may need someone with technical know-how to get things up and running, the process is relatively straightforward. Tools like Ollama and LM Studio simplify the process, and even non-technical users can get in on the action. (I’ve used them personally, but there’s a plethora of them out there) The best part is that you don't need a server farm – your existing hardware might be sufficient. I’ve listed a few use cases I’ve thought of 💭 👇 Lastly, before diving in, it's crucial to determine if AI is the right fit for your unique needs. I'm working on a list of key questions to help you confidently make that decision. Have any ideas of your own? I'd love to hear them!

Our 42px Design Leadership Mixer last week brought together minds from across the spectrum. Veterans with 14 years of experience. Fresh talent with 4 years under their belt. Everyone in between. All in one room. Everyone has their method, their unique workflow, and the mixer provided a rare opportunity to lay it all out - in ways that only face-to-face interactions can facilitate. AI is changing design. Fast. 💨 While AI dominated many conversations (how could it not? 😄), we explored a broad range of topics. Emerging trends, innovative approaches, and tools that are quite frankly, making us rethink our entire workflow! Design leaders found themselves in an environment where they could exchange ideas freely, without pretense or barriers. It was just open dialogue, fueled by shared passion. And yes, pizza and beer helped. Thank you to everyone to came, we hope to see you again! Also, it’s always great to see new faces — we’ll be sharing updates for the next gathering soon!

Is implementing local LLMs the wiser choice? 🤔 Let's dive deeper.

Entrepreneur | Investor | Chairman @ Proximity Foundation | Chairman & CEO @ Proximity Works | Artificial Intelligence, B2B SaaS, Performance & Scale Engineering. Building in AI.

Apple Intelligence has shown us that they like to keep their AI close to their chest, only letting it out to play when you give the green light. Many businesses are chomping at the bit to explore the power of LLMs. But, the journey to harnessing this potential is often hindered by two significant obstacles 🤔 ❌ The high costs associated with LLM technology adoption ❌ The nagging worries about security and data privacy These challenges have left many organizations scratching their heads, trying to figure out how to harness the power of LLMs without emptying their piggy banks or compromising their data. 💡 Local deployment of LLMs has emerged as a solution enabling businesses to utilize AI models on their own devices or at the networks' edge. What's going on under the hood of these local LLMs? 🔸 Model compression — LLMs are squeezed into a smaller size for efficient local storage and execution. 🔸 Hardware acceleration — Utilizing GPUs or AI chips for computations and enhanced performance. 🔸 Containerization — Organizing LLMs into containers for deployment across environments. 🔸 API integration — Local LLMs play nicely with existing software via APIs. Why opt for a setup? ✅ You can build it your way ✅ It's a privacy powerhouse ✅ It's faster ✅ It's cost-effective and scalable Tools like Ollama (open-source) and LM Studio (closed-source) simplify the process of setting up and running local LLMs. Ollama's simplicity caters to beginners and non-technical users, while LM Studio's advanced features appeal to those seeking greater customization and control. With more and more local LLM tools popping up, businesses have a bunch of options to choose from. In my next post, I'll be diving into the most compelling applications and use cases for local LLMs. If you've already implemented local LLMs in your organization and have a success story to share, I'd love to feature your experiences! #AppleIntelligence #LLM #LocalLLMs #LocalAI #LMStudio #Ollama

Remember Mozilla? 🦊 They’re well and truly back, wielding AI like a pro! At the #AIEWF [AI Engineer World’s Fair], Mozilla’s Stephen Hood and Justine Tunney spoke about Llamafile. It's a single-file AI powerhouse that runs on your CPU. No internet needed. 🔶 Llamafile [https://lnkd.in/g4ggxVE4] pulls off some clever tricks – outer loop unrolling, sync threads, TinyBLAS – to squeeze every ounce of performance from your regular CPU. 🔶 One file runs everywhere. Windows, Mac, Linux – doesn't matter. It adapts. 🔶 Builds on llama.cpp, integrates with Hugging Face, and allows users to create custom Llamafiles. 📉 Fun fact 👉 NVIDIA allegedly lost $56 billion in market cap after the presentation. Coincidence? Maybe. Mozilla's on a mission to democratize AI. Backing it with open-source support and $100,000 in non-dilutive funding for builders too! Our engineers are definitely going to be getting our hands dirty with this one! Schedule a call with us if you’re keen to explore further into AI 👉 https://lnkd.in/g4xk7ZFW 🎥 Watch the demo in action below ⬇️ Video credit: AI Engineer’s Twitter Handle [https://lnkd.in/g5denaRu] #AI #LLM #GenerativeAI #Mozilla
