CEO and Founder of Prospera | Maternal Mental Health

I am extremely excited (and also a bit nervous 😬) to announce that I am starting a company! I have been studying treatments for anxiety and depression for 17 years. I know about as much as a person can know about anxiety and depression treatment. But, when I am asked the most basic question by family or friends - Can you recommend a good affordable therapist? - I can’t answer it. And this is the question that really matters. What is all that knowledge worth if I can’t even guide someone towards the help they need when they need it?   So I decided to build a solution to this problem. Prospera Mental Health and Wellness (https://prosperamhw.com), is a mental health platform that provides high quality care at an affordable cost. And by high quality care, I mean evidence-based care that draws from the most up to date scientific evidence to maximize treatment outcomes. We use cognitive behavioral therapies (inclusive of CBT variants like DBT, ACT, Problem Solving, Self Compassion, etc).   Prospera combines mental health coaches, digital tools, and licensed therapists to deliver affordable, high quality, evidence-based care via telehealth. Our coaches are professionals with degrees in psychology from top universities. They have previous experience with crisis support, peer support, coaching, and therapy. Many are in graduate programs training to be licensed therapists. All coaches are then onboarded and trained through our proprietary CBT training program that I designed. Coaches are supported by licensed therapists during weekly case consultation and have a library of digital tools at their disposal to help their clients learn and use CBT skills.   And the best part is, the service is truly affordable. The first week is free to allow people to try it out and determine if it’s the right fit. From there, it’s just $39 per weekly session!  If you want to learn more, check out our website at https://prosperamhw.com. We will open our doors to the entire United States next week on Monday July 18th. Until then, anyone can complete our initial assessment questionnaire and eligibility screening to get on our email list. You'll receive signup instructions next week. A huge thank you to my amazing team who have been working incredibly hard! I'm very excited to be on this journey with you all. Michele Audish, Emily Burge, Ginger Campbell, Max H., Olenka S. Olesnycky, Haley H., Nigel Jaffe, Sara Johnson, Michelle Jung, and Mia Nalic! #mentalhealth #psychology #coaching #quality

Can mental health coaches help reduce symptoms of perinatal anxiety and depression? When I set up the Prospera platform, from the outset, I wanted to make sure we were collecting data on symptom reduction. As a scientist and clinician, I needed to verify our intervention was working! I've analyzed data from dozens of clinical trials. But in clinical trials, clients receive free therapy or are even paid for their participation. In the real world, we can't pay people to get help. It's the other way around. The stakes are higher when someone is paying you for your service. You MUST deliver on your promise, or you'll be out of business. So... Does Prospera's intervention actually help moms? Are we able to reduce symptoms of anxiety and depression? Here's what we found! #postpartum #postpartumdepression #postpartumanxiety #perinatalmentalhealth

With time and healing (s/o to Prospera Mental Health and Wellness❤️), I have reached a point where I am comfortable talking about my struggles with postpartum depression/anxiety and things that helped me overcome. #ResearchWithMoms allows moms like me to share our stories and inspire change in maternal health. It is no secret that we are experiencing a maternal health crisis in the United States. Our voices matter and can lead to meaningful advancements in care and support.

The amazing thing about postpartum mental health challenges is that so many moms have them, but they feel completely alone - like they are the only one. We need more open conversations about maternal mental health and more awareness of emotional challenges aside from postpartum depression. In particular, postpartum anxiety is actually MORE common than postpartum depression, but flies under the radar because most people don't even know it exists. That's why I'm thrilled to introduce you to a podcast that's making a profound impact on the lives of women battling postpartum anxiety. "Ligaya Means Happiness" is the name, and it's hosted by the remarkable Ligaya Lange herself. I had the pleasure of talking with Ligaya about Prospera Mental Health and Wellness and our mission to remove all barriers to moms accessing mental health support. Ligaya is on a mission to help women feel less alone in their struggles with postpartum anxiety. She opens up her heart and shares her deeply personal journey with unfiltered honesty. Her story is a beacon of hope for anyone who's faced the daunting challenges of postpartum anxiety. In "Ligaya Means Happiness," Ligaya doesn't just narrate her experiences; she breaks the silence surrounding postpartum anxiety. By listening to her podcast, you'll gain insights into the daily battles and triumphs that many women face but often hesitate to discuss openly. If you or someone you know has grappled with postpartum anxiety or mental health issues, this podcast is a must-listen. It's available on Apple, Spotify, Amazon, and Anchor. Links to Apple and Spotify in the comments ⬇ Ligaya's podcast is a lifeline for anyone who's faced postpartum anxiety. Join the conversation, and let's shatter the stigma surrounding maternal mental health. 🗣️ #PostpartumAnxiety #MentalHealthAwareness #LigayaMeansHappiness #MaternalMentalHealth
