    🎉 Please join us in welcoming Lauren Thomas to Project Sleep’s Board of Directors! Lauren is a patient advocate and storyteller living with type 1 #narcolepsy with #cataplexy. ⭐ Lauren's involvement with Project Sleep began in 2020 when she facilitated a segment celebrating World Narcolepsy Day on NBA on TNT’s The Arena in advance of the NBA conference finals. ➡️ In the past four years, Lauren has served on the World Narcolepsy Day Committee and been featured in two Project Sleep broadcasts. Additionally, she traveled to Washington DC in Fall 2023 with Project Sleep to share her story at the White House Sleep Equity Convening. 🏀 Currently, Lauren lives in Westchester, NY. She enjoys volunteering in her community, attending concerts, and is a huge basketball fan. 💯 Lauren is honored to serve on Project Sleep’s Board of Directors and is excited to bring her advocacy and storytelling expertise to the table. ✨ Welcome to the board, Lauren!     🇺🇸 On Tuesday, July 16th, 2024, Project Sleep proudly hosted “Awakening America: A Congressional Briefing on Sleep and Public Health” followed by a first-ever Sleep Screening event on Capitol Hill. 🎤 The briefing was moderated by Lindsay Scola and featured Dr. Michael Grandner, Dr. Kali Cyrus, and Project Sleep’s President & CEO, Julie Flygare, JD. 🩺 Following the briefing, Project Sleep invited Capitol Hill staff to participate in the free sleep screening event featuring one-on-one educational consults with sleep specialists to discuss potential concerns about their own sleep or wakefulness. ✨ Huge thanks to Congresswoman Kat Cammack’s office for supporting this event, everyone who attended the event, our wonderful speakers, and Lindsay Scola and the Health & Medicine Counsel for organizing such a successful day. 💗 Special thanks to Drs.
