Project HEAL is the only major nonprofit in the U.S. focused on equitable treatment access for eating disorders. Our mission is to breakdown systemic healthcare, and financial barriers to eating disorder treatment for the people that the current system is failing. We offer free treatment placements, insurance navigation support, and cash assistance to people who need care in order to heal, but are being unfairly denied. We're also leading research into treatment inequities, and actively engaged in education and advocacy for eating disorder sufferers, particularly focusing on those who are too often excluded from the conversation.
People seem to always forget.
At Club Majority, we don't.
We work to ensure that anyone from an underrepresented demographic, within eating disorders treatment, are able to both access and receive the right care.

In our diet-obsessed culture, you probably hear blame and judgment associated with binge eating all the time. But in reality, binge eating disorder is a complex brain disorder with neurological, biological, genetic, and environmental causes.
Just like any other physical or mental health condition, it’s not an issue that can be resolved with self-control, ‘willpower’, or sheer force. Everyone with BED deserves comprehensive, compassionate care. 💙

🤔COMMONLY ASKED QUESTIONS
WHAT IS THIS PROGRAM?
💫Body Reborn is a virtual, intersectional community for those who struggle with disordered eating and have faced systemic barriers due to race (e.g. those that originate for people of color). In this 8 week group (from July 8 - August 28), participants engage in education and live discussion around systemic oppression, trauma, and their effects on our relationship with food/body.
IS THIS PROGRAM FOR ME?
💫You may gain the most benefit from the space if you (a) are already engaging, comfortably, in these reflections individually; and/or (b) are comfortable in your outpatient care level. The group will discuss potentially challenging topics in a carefully facilitated, supportive space. While we aim for safety, complete trigger avoidance cannot be guaranteed. Space is limited. Therefore, we ask that you please complete the application thoughtfully and authentically as possible.

Discrimination and stigma often prevent people of color from identifying that we or someone we love is dealing with disordered eating.
To many, it may still feel like struggling with food is a “white girl” issue; this is simply not true. Eating disorders affect people of color at high rates.
Among those that do present with an eating disorder, only 17% of Black women and 41% of Latinas are accurately diagnosed by doctors when presenting with an eating disorder (source at the end).
If you think you need support, our Community Care Program might be a good fit. It’s led by Community Care facilitators Leslie Jordan Garcia @liberatiwellness and Serena Pao @serena_pao, two women of color who connect and guide groups in education and live discussion around systemic oppression, trauma, and their effects on our relationship with food/body.
