As you might have experienced or seen in the media, a large-scale IT outage has impacted organizations globally overnight, including BJC Health System (BJC HealthCare and Saint Luke’s Health System), affecting access to numerous servers, programs, and computers. This was not a cybersecurity attack. Our IT teams are actively working to restore access to our core systems and reconnect PCs to our network successfully. Though we are seeing progress, this process will take some time. If you have an appointment with one of our providers today, Friday, July 19, please plan to arrive at the normally scheduled appointment time. Due to this outage, please be patient as appointments may take longer and wait times may be extended. Thank you for your understanding and patience as we navigate this developing situation. Our goal is to always provide our communities with the best care possible. We will continue to share updates as they become available.

We’re excited to welcome Greg Patterson as the new president of Barnes-Jewish St. Peters Hospital and Progress West Hospital. Greg has served as vice president and chief operating officer of Barnes-Jewish St. Peters Hospital and Progress West, and was responsible for general operations for both hospitals. Most recently he served as president of Barnes-Jewish West County Hospital, and we are happy to welcome him back to our neighborhood. Congratulations to Kylie Maxwell, our Progress West Hospital Employee of the Month for May 2024! 🎉 Kylie is a patient care technician (PCT) and recently graduated from our summer 2023 PCT cohort. Her nominator said, "Kylie communicates with her patients with care and compassion no matter how busy she is. She is not afraid to step up during stressful situations to make sure her patients get timely interventions and walks into every room with a smile, determined to ensure that the patient receives excellent care during her shift. I am so thankful she decided to join the cohort because she is such a talented caregiver." Kylie is celebrating her one-year anniversary with BJC this month! Congratulations to Jeannette Hickey, MSN, RN, and service line educator, on being named Progress West Hospital's 2023 Employee of the Year! 🎉 Jeannette’s nominator says she is always willing to lend a helping hand. Her commitment to compassionate care also was a highlight of her nomination, which recounted how she comforted a worried patient family member, giving them a safe place to share their feelings. “I love the patients the most. As health care professionals, we care for them during their best times and their worst times. I love building a relationship with my patients and getting to know who they are and provide exceptional health care,” says Jeannette. “Now, as a service line educator, I have the ability to affect patient outcomes indirectly by supporting other health care workers through education and promotion of best practices.” Thank you for supporting our patients and team with your expertise and compassion, Jeannette!
