Companies that want to make the best possible use of their data and leverage AI should have BOTH a Data Lakehouse AND a Data Fabric #bettertogether

View profile for Tyler James Johnson, graphic

What is a Data Fabric and how is it different than a Data Lakehouse you ask? One is not better than the other, in fact they're complementary. Data Fabrics are all about speed, agility and cost optimization through interoperability, automation and low code. Data Lakehouses are all about deep analytics and getting more out of previous investments in data lakes and data warehouses.

🔄 Onboarding new employees is a crucial process, yet often riddled with complications that can hinder efficiency and security. There are common pain points experienced by HR, IT Operations, Hiring Managers, and Cybersecurity teams during the onboarding process. 1️⃣ HR and Hiring Managers often struggle with providing accurate job requirements, leading to too many manual requests and errors. 2️⃣ IT Operations face challenges in timely provisioning access for new hires, affecting the productivity of new employees and creating a negative new hire experience. 3️⃣ Cybersecurity must ensure that access rights for terminated employees are properly revoked and that active employees have permissions that reflect their current roles to avoid data breaches and maintain compliance. 🛠️ The synergy between these departments is crucial for enhancing onboarding experiences and tightening security. Leveraging automated systems and clearer communication channels can drastically reduce errors and improve process speeds. Navigating the complex landscape of onboarding and identity access management is a challenge for any organization. The PrivOps Matrix solution simplifies these processes by seamlessly integrating HR, IT Operations, and Cybersecurity needs. With PrivOps Matrix, organizations can ensure that access rights are assigned accurately and efficiently, reducing manual errors and security risks. This streamlined approach not only speeds up the onboarding process but also maintains compliance and enhances the overall new hire experience. 💬 Let's discuss! How does your organization handle the complexities of onboarding? What strategies have you found effective in aligning these departments? Feel free to share your insights and experiences below! 🗨️✨ #Onboarding #HRManagement #ITOperations #Cybersecurity #EmployeeOnboarding #BusinessEfficiency #TechTalks

It's all about acceleration. The most important metric for data integration is the rate at which you can connect new data sources to AI and analytics.

Earlier this month, I presented at the DAF CDAO Data, Analytics and AI Forum on: "Identity-Based Data Access: A Data Fabric Approach to Achieve Information Dominance". In the presentation, I discussed the evolution of AI and the pacing needed with data to support it. I also presented a solution to achieve that pacing by using an identity-based data fabric, accompanied by a commercial case study and a potential future DoD case. For those who missed my presentation and were looking for a recording, unfortunately, the sessions were not recorded. However, I did a run-through and re-recorded it here for your convenience. Check it out to learn more about achieving information dominance through an identity-based data fabric approach. #DAF #CDAO #DataAnalytics #AI #InformationDominance #DAFDAAF2024 #AFRL #DISA #IAM https://lnkd.in/ehYx_kiV

Does PrivOps have a Tao or guiding principles for identity-based data management? Absolutely! Here is out CTO and Co-Founder Tyler Johnson describing the PrivOps "Tao":

Does PrivOps have a "Tao"? Well, the other day I came across a video of the HashiCorp founders talking about what they call the Tao of HashiCorp, or the core design ethos they take to their platform and customers. Since what PrivOps is doing with data integration is in many ways analogous to what HashiCorp did with cloud infrastructure, it got me thinking about the PrivOps design ethos. From the HashiCorp video (Mitchel Hashimoto): "I think the three most important elements of our tau is infrastructure as code or versioning, workflows not technologies and pragmatism. There's a number of other elements but those three really define our view." The PrivOps "Tao" or ethos is very similar. I actually have nineteen different elements, but these are the 3 most important ones: 1. The most important metric when it comes to data management isn't speeds and feeds, but maximizing the speed at which you can deliver new compliant data integrations (data pipelines). This is doubly true in the age of AI. HashiCorp invented Infrastructure as Code, I invented Integration as Code. 2. Process over technology. The PrivOps solution is an assembly line for building data integrations - it's both. Don't look to your vendors for strategy and architecture advice in cases where process efficiency cannibalizes their revenue. 3. Avoid getting bogged down with rework. Maximize interoperability with legacy interfaces to avoid the effort of reworking existing interfaces and data structures. Here's the HashiCorp video: https://lnkd.in/gscWqp9a #Datafabric #dataintegration #ai #infrastructureascode #integrationascode #leandata #hashicorp #multicloud
