One of the great things about driving an EV is that its battery can be recycled into new products after the car is retired. ♻️ That’s where PNE comes in—leading the charge in sustainable, direct battery recycling technology! In the picture, you’ll see our Chief Strategy Officer Stephen C. Snyder Snyder and Director of Finance Sicheng (Alex) Wang, CFA commuting to work in their EVs every day. With just a 30-mile round trip, they’re each saving around 4,500 pounds of CO2 annually compared to traditional gasoline-powered cars. 🚗⚡ That’s a big impact from a small daily habit! At PNE, we’re committed to reducing carbon footprints while creating a circular battery economy. The future of mobility is clean and green! #ShowMeYourEV #Sustainability #BatteryRecycling #EVLife #ClimateAction #GreenerFuture

Stephen C. Snyder, our Chief Strategy Officer at PNE had the pleasure of joining Laurence Noël (EVP, Head of Automotive Capgemini) for a panel discussion at the Capgemini ‘Business-to-Planet Connect Conference’ on September 25th at the Glass House in #NYC. The event was part of 'NYC Climate Week' and focused on the critical challenges in building ecosystems and supply chains to support the future of EVs and grid infrastructure. During the panel, Bill Combs (VP Sustainability Penske Logistics) and Nitin Tyagi (VP Supply Chain Our Next Energy (ONE)) highlighted the economic challenges of electrification, including high initial costs, fleet residual value, and concerns over battery longevity and end-of-life management. They emphasized that many technical issues, such as range and battery lifecycle, can be addressed by properly matching technology to specific applications. For instance, current battery technologies, like LFP, are well-suited for consumer vehicles and regional delivery fleets, supported by overnight charging and appropriate duty cycles. Stephen added to the discussion by emphasizing the role of innovative recycling methods like #DirectRecycling, which enable fast, cost-effective recovery of battery materials. This approach is key to building a strong, US-based supply chain that reduces dependency on foreign resources and mitigates environmental risks. Laurence Noel concluded the session by stressing the importance of collaboration in electrifying transportation. She noted that leasing models, longer battery life, and advanced recycling technologies will be essential in creating economic certainty and driving the growth of electrification in the coming years. #EV #Sustainability #Electrification #BatteryRecycling #ClimateAction #NYCClimateWeek
