From planning to implementation, I work to create the conditions for learning and catalyze the revitalization of neighborhoods based on the model of community schools.
Excited for the release of "The Massachusetts School Centered Neighborhood Development Playbook", featuring yours truly! A big thanks to Benjamin Forman for including COMMUNITY LEARNING CENTER INSTITUTE as a champion of the model. As the success of the school and the success of the neighborhood are inextricably linked, I am excited to continue to scale the model to level the playing field so all families can live, work, live and learn in thriving neighborhoods. The Daily Table needs our help to restore access to healthy food for SNAP families! Please consider donating to their Go Fund Me: https://lnkd.in/em6bgMCg Due to unexpected funding challenges, this vital program, Double Up Food Bucks (DUFB), has been temporarily paused in both Salem and Boston, MA. The Daily Table is near and dear to POAH as its Boston location is part of the retail space at The Loop at Mattapan Station, providing access to our residents amongst many others in the community. "We know this nutrition incentive is something our neighbors rely on to feed their families healthy fruits & vegetables every week and make their SNAP benefit dollars go further. On average 3,000 SNAP customers per week currently use this program at Daily Table. We urgently need your help to restore this SNAP nutrition incentive program, ensuring our neighbors can continue to access affordable, nutritious food. Every dollar you contribute goes directly towards bringing back this program that benefits families, supports local farmers, and strengthens our community."
Urgent: Restore Access to Healthy Food for SNAP Families Daily Table’s Double Up Food Bucks program makes fresh produce affordable for families using SNAP—50% off fresh fruits & veggies, helping families eat healthier on a budget. Since 2018, this program has helped our SNAP customers redeem nearly $2M in fresh produce, benefiting 3,000 families weekly. Due to unexpected funding challenges, we’ve had to pause this vital program. We urgently need your help to restore it so our neighbors can continue to access affordable, nutritious food. Every dollar brings us closer to healthier families and stronger communities. Donate today: https://lnkd.in/dDyjdWtq

When resident communications support trust and open engagement, residents often feel better about reaching out for assistance and working with their landlords to maintain stable housing. Recognizing this, SAHF’s Housing Stability Cohort identified effective resident communication as a crucial element of #housingstability. To share emerging best practices, SAHF has published a Resident Communication Touchpoints Brief and collaborated with Preservation of Affordable Housing to develop a resource titled “Applying Trauma-Informed Principles: An Example of Resident Communications.” We extend our gratitude to JPMorganChase for their support in promoting these best practices. We were thrilled to celebrate the ribbon cutting and grand opening of LeClaire Village in Mashpee, MA! In partnership with Preservation of Affordable Housing (POAH) and Housing Assistance Corporation (HAC), this project brings 39 affordable homes to the area across three newly constructed buildings. It is our 22nd Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) investment with POAH, and it was truly special to celebrate the opening alongside the namesake, Mary LeClair, and so many wonderful members of the community. This project embodies the power of collaboration and commitment to expanding affordable housing, and we're grateful to be a part of this transformative journey. #AffordableHousing #CommunityImpact #LIHTC #POAH #HAC #LeClaireVillage #Partnerships #GrandOpening #HousingForAll #mapoli

State and local officials gathered for a ribbon-cutting ceremony this morning at LeClair Village, a new three-building community in Mashpee featuring 39 affordable rental units. LeClair Village was developed through a partnership between Housing Assistance and Preservation of Affordable Housing (POAH). The property is named after Mary LeClair, a longtime champion of housing issues on Cape Cod and a former board member at Housing Assistance, who continues to advocate for housing and other causes at the age of 90. #AffordableHousing #savethelocals
