“As an industry… we ask policymakers to remember: Concrete—made with cement—is a material that facilitates life for the 8.2 billion people on our planet. Not many industries can claim that. Most industries cannot come close to identifying with such an awesome responsibility.” – Massimo Toso, PCA Chair, President & CEO of Buzzi Unicem USA Today, PCA Chair Massimo Toso made the case for America’s cement manufacturers before an in-person and virtual audience at the Climate Week NYC event hosted by GCCA – Global Cement and Concrete Association and LeadIT. Toso restated the U.S. industry’s commitment to reaching carbon neutrality by 2050 and requested that those elected to Congress and the White House this November “continue implementing clean energy and industrial decarbonization provisions included in the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law and the Inflation Reduction Act.” He closed his remarks stating, “Every single human uses our products every single day to lead a productive life. Therefore, reducing the cement industry’s carbon footprint is not just on the cement industry … it is on everyone, including the government.” Many thanks to GCCA and LeadIT for inviting PCA’s participation in this important event. www.cementprogress.com #ClimateWeekNYC #CementIndustry #Cement #Concrete #PCAroadmap
