As a follow up to my recent post and poster, I would like to share my experience at the #ICSHM2024 Conference on #SelfHealingMaterials. This was my first "second-time" conference, following my first conference ever #ICSHM2022 in Milan two years ago. I had the opportunity to present a comprehensive and collaborative work conducted over the past years with colleagues from Politecnico di Milano | Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, the University of Malta, and Ghent University. After four years of research and experiments, we can finally say that Ultra-High Performance Concrete (#UHPC) can be made even more #sustainable for structures exposed to severely aggressive environments. I extend my gratitude to my co-authors on the work "Self-healing assessment and durability performance of a Recycled UHPC exposed to chlorides", presented during the conference: Estefania Cuenca Asensio, Ruben Paul Borg, and Liberato Ferrara. Additionally, I acknowledge the contributions of May El Sayed, Davide di Summa, and Niranjan Prabhu K, who conducted the initial experiments on this recycled UHPC. On top of all this, I would like to thank Cabot Corporation for their innovative Linkedin social contest. Sharing my research with the social community was as valuable as interacting with conference attendees in person, enabling me to reach a broader audience. As a PhD student, I appreciate to be prompted to grow my network through social media, which plays a significant role in our globalized scientific community. I am committed to promoting this initiative for future conferences. A big thank you to everyone who supported me in the social contest - I could not have won without your help! #CabotCorp
