Back in January, Allegheny County Chief Executive Sara Innamorato spoke at the CMI during our community-wide discussion, "Restoring the Fourth Estate". She said: “I don’t always love when I get that TV ambush interview and a camera shoved in my face, but I know it’s necessary. It’s necessary for an open government, it’s necessary for a thriving democracy, it’s necessary for me to be held accountable as your elected leader in Allegheny County.” Learn more about how our elected leaders in #Pittsburgh support robust local news at newsapalooza.org 📲 Point Park University https://lnkd.in/edXGX9i6

I want send an extended thank you to the Center for Media Innovation at Point Park University for inviting me to the Pittsburgh Black Media Federation Robert L. Vann Awards Dinner! It was my first time witnessing such an amazing organization honoring those within the Pittsburgh community who look like me & write stories about those who look like me. Today was humbling, inspiring, & remarkable. It was an honor to listen to the awe-inspiring speeches as we were carried along through the awards dinner by Co-Hosts Pittsburgh’s Action News 4 anchor/reporter Chandi Chapman along with KDKA-TV sports anchor Josh Taylor! Thank you Tara Maziarz Myers for thinking of me! Until next year!
