  • A statement from our CEO: "Months ago, I began conversations with the PPNorCal Board on my employment contract renewal. After thoughtful reflection, I decided to offer the Board a final extension ending on June 30, 2025. The Board are my extraordinary partners, and I am grateful for their respectful acceptance of my decision. It was always my intention to leave this role at a time when the organization is strong and ready for a new leader to take it to the next level. Proudly, this has been achieved! "I began my PPNorCal service in 2014 and was selected as CEO in June 2017. In that time, we have realized many extraordinary accomplishments. Highlights I am most proud of include the launch of our medication abortion services via telehealth, centering ourselves on advancing DEI & Health Equity, opening three new expanded health centers with a fourth one in a few months, and successful completion of three targeted fundraising campaigns totaling $32.8M in addition to annual fundraising goals to name a few. It has been an immense honor to lead Planned Parenthood Northern California and champion the reproductive freedom movement. This position will forever be the highlight of my professional career. "The PPNorCal Board is now ready to launch the CEO search with the job posting available in the coming days. "I will continue to guide this organization with the same energy and commitment until my last day. I love PPNorCal and committed to a seamless transition that ensures its continued success!"

Key highlights from the report include: • An increased demand for abortion care in the post-Dobbs era • An analysis of the disparities faced by Black and Latina women in accessing abortion care • Actionable recommendations for the Bay Area Abortion Rights Coalition (BAARC) We hope you will take the time to read this report and commit to supporting PPNorCal and our BAARC partners in our fight to expand reproductive freedom in the Bay Area and all of northern California! https://lnkd.in/gHjWZby2

  • September 15th through October 15th is Latinx Heritage Month, a time to reaffirm our commitment to advancing health equity. In many communities, including the Latinx community, decisions around bodily autonomy are often made with the input of family and loved ones, highlighting the importance of collective values. We are committed to ensuring the Latinx community has access to comprehensive sexual reproductive health care across all our PPNorCal Health Centers. Today and every day, we celebrate and honor our Latinx patients, volunteers, staff, and supporters!

  • Our PPNorCal staff and volunteers had an amazing time tabling at Outside Lands earlier this month! We handed out safer sex supplies, played a fun reproductive health trivia game, and connected with hundreds of festivalgoers about the wide variety of services we offer from San Francisco to the Oregon border.

  • Exactly one month ago, numerous Reproductive Freedom powerhouses convened at our San Francisco Flagship Health Center on the second anniversary of the Dobbs decision. House of Representatives Speaker Emerita Nancy Pelosi reflected on the present and evolving threats to reproductive freedom and called for proactive measures, such as bringing the Right to Contraception Act to a vote in the House. We were honored to host Speaker Emerita Pelosi alongside Essential Access Health, Reproductive Freedom for All California, the Teach Program, ACLU California Action, and the Future of Abortion Council united in the fight for reproductive rights, justice, and freedom for all.
