Planet Indonesia baru saja selesai mendapatkan kunjungan dari LSM Mitra kami, Yayasan Tananua Flores (YTNF) dari Ende. Sebuah kunjungan persahabatan yang luar biasa, demi masyarakat dampingan masing-masing lembaga Dalam rangka memperkuat kolaborasi dan berbagi pengetahuan, YTNF dan YPI saling berbagi pengalaman tentang: 1. Pelayanan Usaha Masyarakat Konservasi (PUMK) sebagai Pengelolaan dan sebagai Tata Kelola, serta dampaknya di lokasi dampingan 2. Dana Ketahanan Berbasis Kelompok 3. Nilai-Nilai Patroli Kawasan Berbasis SMART Selama kunjungan ini, tim kami memfasilitasi berbagai kegiatan pembelajaran yang seru dan bermanfaat, mulai dari desk study hingga kunjungan lapangan. Salah satu highlight dari kunjungan ini adalah saat kami mengunjungi Dusun Ladak, Desa Meragun, Kec. Nanga Taman, Kabupaten Sekadau. Di sana, kami mengadakan: 📚 Pertemuan dengan PUMK Mentrap Pugan di Dusun Ladak untuk saling berbagi pengalaman dan pengetahuan 🌱 Kunjungan ke demplot pertanian untuk observasi dan belajar langsung dari praktik lapangan Pengalaman ini tidak hanya memperkaya pengetahuan dan keterampilan, tetapi juga mempererat hubungan kami dengan mitra di berbagai daerah. Kami percaya bahwa kemitraan yang setara dan saling memberikan dampak positif sangat penting untuk menciptakan dampak positif yang berkelanjutan bagi komunitas dan lingkungan. Kami sangat bangga dapat menjadi bagian dari perjalanan ini dan tidak sabar untuk melihat dampak positif dari pertukaran pembelajaran ini di masa depan. In the heart of Indonesia's coastal villages, fishermen demonstrate resilience, determination, and hope. At Planet Indonesia, we've seen firsthand the transformative power of community-driven conservation efforts through initiatives like SMART Patrol, sustainable fishing groups, and Community Cooperatives. SMART Patrol:  SMART Patrol teams in the Karimata Marine Reserve record and report illegal activities, protecting marine biodiversity and ensuring sustainable resource management. Sustainable fishing groups: This program empowers local communities to actively monitor and manage their fishing resources, fostering sustainable practices. Community Cooperatives: Helps communities form rules and decisions over their natural resource use, governing collaboratively and in a way that benefits them and the natural environment. At the IUCN SSC Asian Songbird Trade Specialist Group Meeting, we also conducted sessions to refine our songbird conservation strategies. Key takeaways: Clear Objectives and Strategies: Gained insights into IUCN SSC ASTSG goals and strategic direction. Complex Songbird Trade: Explored the multifaceted nature of the Asian songbird trade and its challenges. Wildlife-Friendly Villages: Learned practical lessons on designing wildlife-friendly village programs. This conference enriched our knowledge and provided actionable insights. Wrapping up the first day of the IUCN SSC Asian Songbird Trade Specialist Group Meeting on Friday, we heard insightful contributions from our team. Rodiansyah Rodiansyah, our Manager of the Technical Division, discussed how rights, management, governance, and well-being interact to conserve critical songbird populations and their habitats. He also shared our plans to scale this model across Indonesia. Dr. Happy Ferdiansyah, from our sister organization, Wak Gatak Conservation Center, participated in a panel discussion and contributed a poster on the lessons learned from the Wak Gatak Songbird Rescue Center, emphasizing the importance of effective disease management in songbird rehabilitation. Meanwhile, Hairul Rohim presented a poster on 70 months of SMART patrol data, highlighting significant reductions in exploitative activities and increases in key species densities.
