Add the Federation of State Medical Boards (FSMB) to the growing list of organizations and government agencies issuing guidelines on AI governance in healthcare. While state medical boards cannot regulate AI directly, they do have authority over providers who use AI tools. In its new guidelines, FSMB says clinicians should be held responsible for any harm caused by their use of AI and that any use of AI must uphold the standard of care. At Pivot Point Consulting we believe scaling data ethics and governance is crucial, requiring a vetting process, risk assessment checklists and comprehensive logging and tracking of AI projects to ensure ethical use without stifling innovation. Find out more in the comments below. See more FSMB recommendations here: https://lnkd.in/gDeS4twg I #HealthTech #HealthcareAI #HealthcareInnovation

Stojak highlights the transformative power of ambient AI but also acknowledges concerns around energy consumption and bias. Stakeholders must carefully consider these issues and engage in ongoing dialogue to harness AI’s benefits while mitigating its risks and addressing ethical concerns.
