Philosopher Foods is making the transition to in-house manufacturing in our new production facility in Santa Rosa, CA! This will be the world's first and only production facility for fermented and dehydrated nuts, where we will build a strong moat around our patent-pending Gut Nuts. We're raising a crowd-funded 0% interest loan for $15,000 on Kiva, and I'd love for you to help us bring this vision to life for as little as $25! We're 84% of the way there with $2,450 to go and 14 days left. It's vulnerable to ask for small help when I see big exits and big series A and up raises happening around me in the CPG space, but hey, we are where we are! Gut Nuts are live on Thrive Market! You can buy and review our fermented almonds and fermented cashews nationwide on their website, linked below. This has been a LONG time coming. James Ren first accepted Gut Nuts back in January of 2022 when I presented it along with Tom Wittenberg and Shane Peterson, before we even had any packaging except glass jars! This was a HUGE win and validation of our concept, back when we were still in R&D and had no place to produce commercially. Thank you, James, for seeing beyond our lack of practical preparation to view the beauty of our vision to revolutionize snack nuts with fermentation and gut health, and for validating it by asking for as many SKUs as we could possibly create! Your awesome flavor recommendations are still in our R&D pipeline once we master the launch of the basic flavors. Then, a long process of collaboration ensued between James, Jason Bidart, and Heather K. Terry starting at Natural Products Expo West 2023 where we first unveiled Gut Nuts to the industry, literally in glass jars with a very basic brand design. Lots of candid packaging feedback and tough love ensued. Many others were involved in this 12 month process like Jennifer Barney, Casey Harshman, Brooke Effron, Elliot Begoun, and WavenDean Fernandes, also helping us cut through to the finest and most effective design. Assembling all this, we finally landed on our current packaging designed by Catch Creative with key leadership from Brandt Mandrier, who graciously designed live with me over countless sessions, which is a privilege he insists that no one else gets! Our packaging was at last launched at Expo West 2024. It takes a village, and a lot of time and patience to birth a revolutionary first-to-the-world product! I'm happy to share that in less than 3 weeks of sales at Sprouts Farmers Market, Gut Nuts fermented almonds are already listed as a "Bestseller" on Instacart! That's with $0 invested on Instacart or any other type of marketing or promotion 😎 I didn't even know we were listed on Instacart at all until today until our CFO Jared Lovenduski told me! 😂 I'm excited to see where the next 10 weeks take us as more and more Sprouts stores get up the signage that highlights Gut Nuts as "fermented and dehydrated for gut health." We're bringing the megatrend of gut health to the snack nut category in a big way for the first time! We have just 12 weeks total to prove ourselves in sales in the "New for You" innovation section. If we sell well enough, we'll make it into Sprouts full time! I greatly appreciate the support of the LinkedIn community - our launch post had over 11,000 impressions and inspired posts by others like Matt Davis who went so Sprouts to pick up our products and share about them here and on other social media platforms.
