✨ Founded in 2014, Borealis Philanthropy supports transformative work led by BIPOC, LGBTQ , people with disabilities, and those affected by police violence, mass incarceration, and poverty, directing resources to those most impacted by injustice. The Black-Led Movement Fund (BLMF) and Disability Inclusion Fund (DIF) recently launched The Black Disabled Liberation Project with a $1M investment from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation. This initiative supports Black disabled activists, combining grantmaking with an action and resource hub.🌟 “This project is driven by our belief that any social justice approach without disability justice is incomplete,” said Sandy Ho, DIF Program Director. “We know ableism and anti-Blackness are interconnected. This funding invests in Black disabled wisdom, ingenuity, and joy.” 💙 Learn more about this powerhouse for social justice, their groundbreaking work, and the selected grantees: https://bit.ly/4cTztxl #CollectiveGiving #Philanthropy #CollaborativeFunds #DisabilityJustice #DisabilityPrideMonth

A Promising Start for Giving in 2024! 🚨 Despite a 2.1% drop in charitable giving in 2023, fundraisers are cautiously optimistic as early 2024 trends show promise, according to the latest “Giving USA Foundation” report. Inflation and declining individual donations have been significant challenges, with individual giving slipping to 67.2% from 67.4% in 2022. 🌟 What is working? Our CEO, Sara Lomelin, highlights how giving circles fostering discussions about priorities and goals help donors feel more invested and connected to the causes they support. Curious about the challenges and opportunities in 2024? 👇Read more from Rasheeda Childress on The Chronicle of Philanthropy below. #CollectiveGiving #Fundraising #Philanthropy #2024Trends #GivingCircles
For years now, nonprofits have been worried about the decline in the number of Americans who give. This year’s "Giving USA" report won’t allay their concerns: Giving by individuals in 2023 dropped 2.4 percent. The share of overall giving that came from individual donors continued to decline, albeit slightly, from 67.4 percent in 2022 to 67.2 percent in 2023. As recently as 2013, individual donors accounted for 73 percent of overall giving. Rasheeda Childress reports on the report from Giving USA Foundation. https://bit.ly/3XCeYR8
