Our hearts go out to everyone affected by Hurricane Helene. 💔 Many of our dedicated therapy animal teams call the affected communities home, and they are now facing unimaginable challenges in the aftermath of the storm. Some teams, like Abraham and his handler Lisa, have been able to take action. On Saturday, they visited the Town of Summerville's Fire-Rescue Station 1, where Abraham gave the crew some much-appreciated hugs. To all those experiencing loss or hardship, we're thinking of you, your pets, and your entire family. Please know we're here for you and ready to offer support however we can.

Meet Captain Turkey, Assistant to the Social Media Specialist and our resident bat enthusiast! 🦜 When he’s not hard at work (or hanging upside down from a cat tree), you’ll find Captain Turkey barking at dogs, singing “Birds Just Want to Have Fun,” and spending quality time with his favorite human. He’s more than just a team member—he’s a tiny, opinionated dinosaur. 🦖 #NationalPetBirdDay #MeetTheTeam #SocialMedia

Pet Week on Capitol Hill is bringing the power of pets to Washington, D.C.! 👏 Hosted by the Human Animal Bond Research Institute (HABRI), this event highlights the importance of pets for human health and well-being. On Monday, Taylor Chastain Griffin, PhD Pet Partners' National Director of AAI Advancement, joined HABRI President Steven Feldman for a conversation about the profound benefits of animal-assisted therapy. They explored the incredible impact of therapy animals, and Taylor shared a touching story about her retired therapy dog, Ivy, that truly captures the magic of the human-animal bond. 🐾💙 🎥 Watch the session here: https://bit.ly/4cZN0D5 #PetWeekOnCapitolHill #TherapyAnimals #HumanAnimalBond #CapitolHill #AnimalAssistedIntervention

On September 11, 2001, more than 300 search and rescue dogs, including some of our remarkable volunteer teams, were deployed to New York City. These dedicated dogs and their handlers worked tirelessly in 12-hour shifts, aiding in the recovery efforts at Ground Zero. When not actively searching, the dogs instinctively comforted the courageous first responders, becoming therapy dogs in the truest sense. On this day, we remember and honor all the heroes, both two and four-legged, who stepped up when the world needed them most. ❤️

Meet Story. 🐶 She helps young readers build skills and confidence at her local library. Story's handler, Gina, had always dreamed of being part of programs like our Read With Me initiative, which is how Story got her name. When children feel shy or uncertain about reading, they're invited to read a story to Story. During a recent visit, a little girl chose a particular book just to show Story a picture of another therapy dog. We are so grateful for volunteer teams like Gina and Story, who inspire a love for reading, one page at a time. 📖❤️ #NationalReadABookDay
