Helping dogs in need find the loving forever homes they deserve.
About us
We see a day when all dogs are safe, secure, cared for, fed well, and loved. PEDIGREE Foundation is working to find a solution to the problem of the millions of homeless dogs in this country. Through our grant programs, we support organizations that save the lives of dogs that would otherwise be lost. The Foundation was established in 2008 by dog lovers with a passionate belief that every dog deserves a loving home. PEDIGREE Foundation is a 501(c)(3) private foundation that supports shelters and rescue organizations, as well as encouraging people to ADOPT, VOLUNTEER, and DONATE. We’re proud to have awarded almost 5,000 grants to caring, committed shelters and rescue organizations since 2008. Visit our website to learn more about our grant program and the success stories that have come from it!

This week's Adoption Tail features gorgeous Adele, a 66-pound bundle of affection. When she arrived at Friends of Homeless Animals, staff quickly realized that she had a habit of being a little too affectionate, which led to some negative behaviors. Adele worked with FOHA's behavioral consultants, a program supported by a PEDIGREE Foundation grant, throughout her six month stay. She learned to walk properly on a leash and to greet new people with a friendly sniff. Once Adele found her new family, she continued to work with FOHA's behavioral consultants to reinforce these behaviors and ensure she would thrive in her new environment. Congratulations, Adele!

Today's Adoption Tail is a real treat! Sundae, a senior black lab, was her foster mother Lisa's 81st foster dog! Sundae was also the largest dog Lisa had ever cared for at 81 pounds. While in Lisa's care, veterinarians discovered Sundae had heart disease - ordinarily a condition that might make it difficult for a dog to get adopted, but not for Sundae. She joined Muttville Senior Dog Rescue's hospice program, in which Muttville covers the cost of palliative veterinary care for dogs with a life-limiting condition but a high quality of life. With that support, Sundae thrived with Lisa and has continued to live life to the fullest with her new family! Of course, she celebrated her new home with an ice cream sundae - how could she not!

Our hearts are with everyone affected by Hurricanes Helene and Milton, and we’re doing everything we can to support shelters and rescue organizations caring for dogs in affected areas. Through our ongoing partnership with American Humane we’re supporting recovery efforts in Georgia, North Carolina, and Florida. We’ve also unlocked additional funding for Disaster Relief grants, working directly with affected shelters on the ground to provide immediate financial support. We know there is still so much to be done, and we are committed to supporting shelters and rescue organizations throughout the recovery process. The 16th annual Mars Petcare Adoption Weekend kicks off today. If you’re thinking of adopting during this event, or anytime soon, please remember to consider all available dogs, including senior pups. A recent survey of U.S. shelters showed that adult and senior pets can make great matches as they are often social with people and other dogs, potty trained, and good on a leash. And remember that by finding a compatible pet - one who shares your interests, personality and lifestyle - you can create an enduring match and change a pet's life (and yours!) for the better. The 16th annual Mars Pet Adoption Weekend is almost here, and PEDIGREE Foundation is working to ensure as many pets as possible can be placed in loving homes. The newly released Mars Global Pet Parent Study found that 84% of dogs and cats are acquired before the age of 12 months. PEDIGREE Foundation surveyed its U.S. shelter partners and found that on average, dogs over the age of 6 months are in our shelter partners longer than puppies. In fact, senior dogs (7 years or older) stay double the length of time as puppies! Adult and senior dogs can make the perfect match as many are often social with people and other dogs, potty trained, and good on a leash. If you’re thinking of adopting during this event, or anytime soon, remember that by finding a compatible pet - one who shares your interests, personality, and lifestyle - you can create an enduring match and change a pet's life (and yours!) for the better. ❤️ Take a look a some of the adorable pups for adoption during this year’s event from Nashville Humane Association and Williamson County Animal Center! #MarsPetAdoption

We are immensely proud to support the critical work that American Humane is doing for animals affected by Hurricane Helene. The need for assistance remains high and will continue to grow. Please consider helping us support impacted shelters in North Carolina, East Tennessee and organizations like American Humane who are on the ground supporting displaced dogs. A big thank you to the PEDIGREE Foundation for their generous support of the American Humane Rescue Team throughout our deployment in southern Georgia. Because of the PEDIGREE Foundation and the generous donations of so many people across the community, we've been able to provide direct and immediate relief to animals and families impacted by Hurricane Helene.
