Our Rehabilitation Department (7th Floor) was recently thanked by various family and fellow church members of a recent patient. In a Thank-You letter addressed to the department, Pastor Randy Wiseman expressed his gratitude for the entire staff and a special thank-you to one of our nurses, Whitney Woodard, "who went the extra mile by personally making a cake for the patient's birthday." #patientcarefirst #HealthcareHeroes #PBRMCproud

You’ve probably heard of appendicitis… but there are several other possible causes of severe abdominal pain, like a gallbladder attack, bowel blockage, even a heart attack can cause pain in your abdomen. While many causes of stomach pain are minor and will pass - like gas, menstrual cramps, indigestion. But, if you have sudden, severe or stabbing pains that don’t go away, or that are accompanied by vomiting and high fever, don’t delay. Trust your gut instincts and call your doctor or get to the ER.

We recently celebrated the retirement of Dr. Mike Willis, RN/DNP, a dedicated member of Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center's family! Dr. Willis has served our community with distinction, most recently as the Manager of Education since June 2021. Before that, he contributed his expertise to our Emergency Department. His journey with PBRMC began much earlier; from April 2003 to July 2010, he served as an RN and later as the Education Director. An accomplished educator, Dr. Willis taught at Three Rivers College from July 2010 to April 2021, sharing his vast knowledge and passion for nursing. Holding a Doctorate in Nursing (DPN), he has made significant contributions to the field both in clinical and educational settings. Beyond his work at PBRMC, Dr. Willis dedicated several years to working on an ambulance and is a proud veteran. His wife, Dedra, continues to be a valued member of our lab team. Thank you, Dr. Willis, for your years of service, dedication, and commitment to excellence. We wish you all the best in your retirement! #Retirement #ThankYou #HealthcareHero #PBRMCproud
