  • Everyone is empowered to use their voice, but voices only matter if they’re heard. Listening and accepting what is communicated is a critical focus of Valuing Every Voice. When every voice is heard, trust and respect is strengthened within your team. By listening to and accepting your fellow colleagues, especially when it comes to safety concerns or potential risks, it fosters a strong safety culture where everyone feels seen, heard and supported. Positive change is the collective efforts of every company, project team, and individual. One decision can change an entire project, one incident can change an entire team, one voice can inspire many more that can change an entire industry. And it takes the commitment, determination, and confidence in each and every one of us to create a strong safety culture that will impact our career, families, community, and industry for generations to come. #ConstructionSafetyWeek #EmployeeOwned #Construction #Safety

  • To “Value Every Voice”, we encourage and welcome new ideas to improve safety protocols and reduce safety risks. Being more inclusive with our safety planning, programming and practices creates a deeper sense of unity and trust within our teams. As a 100% employee-owned company, each and every employee owner has an intrinsic right to have their voice heard, and that is especially true when it comes to safety. Each person on the job, from groundsmen to superintendents has a responsibility to take initiative, responsibility and ownership of their job and team. Regardless of project schedule or additional costs, nothing is more important than the safety of yourself and the others around you. #ConstructionSafetyWeek #EmployeeOwned #Construction #Safety

  • Today marks the first day of Construction Safety Week, a national awareness week for all construction spaces and workers across the country. Join us this week as we “Value Every Voice”, empowering employees on and off the jobsite to take action and keep themselves and their fellow employees safe. Today we are driving personal ownership. Each member's decisions and actions collectively shape the safety and success of any construction project. Your voice is not only valued but is integral in bringing up any safety concerns, promoting improved safety plans or anything else that can create a safer workplace and jobsite. Collectively, we must all be committed to continuously improving our safety culture, not just during Safety Week but every day on every job. #ConstructionSafetyWeek #EmployeeOwned #Construction #Safety

Director of Market Development at Pavement Recycling Systems, Inc.

Representing the Recycling & Stabilizing Association of California (RSA), I was honored to speak at this week’s CalAPA Spring Conference in Ontario, CA, as part of a panel on Sustainable Pavement Engineering. Along with Cathrina Barros, Office Chief, Caltrans Office of Asphalt Pavements, Larry Hernandez of Caltrans, and Dr. David Jones of UCPRC, we spoke to the latest state-wide advancements in Cold Recycling specifications, research and development, and local municipality utilization of sustainable pavement engineering strategies, such as Cold In-place Recycling (CIR)/Partial Depth Recycling (PDR), Cold Central Plant Recycling (CCPR), and Full Depth Recycling (FDR). Thank you to the California Branch of the Women of Asphalt and to CalAPA for the invitation to contribute to another successful technical conference! #RSA #womenofasphalt #calapa
