We want to recognize several of our dedicated Parkland Medical Center staff members (Amanda, Holly, Kylie and Kristen) who participated in the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP) Out of Darkness Overnight Walk in Boston. These staff members took it upon themselves to fundraise and participate in the 17-mile overnight walk to raise awareness. Together they raised $3,740! Amanda Mazzariello, RN, clinical coordinator, said, “We had an amazing experience on the overnight walk meeting with individuals struggling with mental health issues, recent losses to suicide, and those who have survived a suicide attempt. Hearing their personal stories was an emotional and powerful experience. As a team we were pleased to help raise funds for this important initiative and as a whole, the AFSP event raised $3.2 million.” #CareLikeFamily
