We’re proud of the Par Hawaii and Hele teams who are continually making a difference in communities where they work. Case in point is the 6th annual Par Hawaii Charity Golf Tournament held recently at the Kapolei Golf Club. The tournament is one of the best ones in the state and contributes much to the wellbeing of citizens. More than 200 golfers took part this year and the proceeds benefited Hawaii Meals on Wheels and Hui O Ho’ohonua, who each received $25,000. All of us at Par Pacific say Mahalo to all the sponsors, volunteers and individual golfers at this great event!

Par Pacific has a highly-trained cadre of people who are ready to respond to any emergency. In order to do that, we diligently train with community, state and federal partners so we can all be as prepared as possible. In the course of the past two weeks, our logistics and fuels terminal operations teams trained on emergency response scenarios in Bozeman and Helena, Montana as well as Spokane, Washington. Our focus on safety and preparedness never waivers.

Well, that’s been a quick five years! It seems as if it were only yesterday that Par Pacific welcomed U.S. Oil & Refining of Tacoma, Wash., into the company. Recently company executives – including CEO Will Monteleone and Senior Vice President of Refining & Logistics Richard Creamer – joined Refinery Manager Andrew Troske and his team to celebrate the five-year anniversary of our business relationship. We have much to proud of with the Tacoma facility. U.S. Oil earned an EPA Energy Star certification last year, recognizing it as one of the most energy efficient refineries in the country. Many people showed up to mark the five-year anniversary. Even our retail business nomnom got into the act by providing Froozee drinks. It was a great way to note this landmark moment in our outstanding business relationship.

We are proud of our CFO Shawn Flores for recently being recognized by Fortune magazine as one of the Fortune 500 CFOs under 40 years old. He was highlighted in the magazine with six other chief financial officers who are making huge strides before reaching their 40th birthdays. And all of them worked their way through the ranks to ascend to the CFO role. At 35, Shawn this month marked his 10-year anniversary with Par Pacific. The company landed at No. 454 in the Fortune 500 this year, up 38 spots from last year, with the company earning $8.2 billion. Shawn has served as SVP and CFO since January 2023 after joining the company in July 2014 and serving in a variety of financial leadership roles. Before joining Par Pacific, he worked in finance roles with BG Group in Texas and the United Kingdom.
