Bringing organic produce to the people since 1978
About us
We have been committed to providing our customers with fresh and flavorful organic produce since 1978. Our passion for organic produce has helped us become the largest wholesaler of organic fruits, vegetables and herbs in the Pacific Northwest. Not only are we committed to organic produce, we are also committed to becoming ever more sustainable in our business practices, and we encourage similar methods throughout the trade. Organically Grown was founded by farmers. We have built on those relationships by expanding our grower network to ensure we have access to the best produce available. Because we work within a small trade system, we are able to purchase over 90% of our products directly from growers. We team up with natural and fine food retailers, supermarket chains, restaurants, home delivery enterprises and processors who provide the final link in bringing our produce to customers thereby ensuring that Northwest communities reap the benefits of fresh organic fruits and vegetables. Organic food is produced naturally, without using conventional pesticides, petroleum-based fertilizers, or chemical processes. It's healthy for consumers and healthier for the growers in the fields. In a nutshell, organic food promotes healthy communities and a healthy environment.

"Our students will grow up learning a lot more about the things OGC sells – this helps their overall health and enjoyment of fruits and veggies. We’re using the grant to expand our thornless blackberries and buy strawberry starts – anything that students can pick and immediately eat is a win!" -Bethel Farm Manager Kyle Ryan Based at Kalapuya High School, the district’s “Bethel Farm” is an immersive outdoor classroom where students get hands-on learning experience as they plan, plant and tend crops. Through the farm, students learn botany, agriculture, science and job skills in a real-world setting. The food the students grow goes right to cooking classes, where they learn food shopping and nutrition. Students are also welcome to take food home and periodically Bethel holds free farmers markets for them. Some of the crops go into school lunches. And whenever Bethel has food to donate, it goes directly to the food bank clients at FOOD for Lane County. Find out more about Bethel Farm and how they plan to use their Mission Fund Grant on OGC's blog here https://bit.ly/3RtixFk

Trade groups are the glue that holds the ever-changing food industry together. They connect people and businesses with shared interests and goals, helping everyone stay competitive, adapt to changes and amplify our voices in the policy world. As part of our mission to grow the organic movement, OGC is involved in trade organizations throughout the Northwest and beyond. Last month, the Washington Food Industry Association’s (WFIA) annual Vendor to Vendor Connect trade show gave OGC coworkers a fun chance to network and expand our connections. During this special event, we were incredibly honored to receive WFIA’s Vendor of the Year Award. This recognition is a testament to the hard work and dedication of the entire OGC team. We are so grateful to WFIA and our Washington partners—customers, growers and community allies—who help make our mission to grow the organic agricultural movement possible. #OrganicMovement #WFIA #OrganicallyGrown #TradeGroups

It was an inspiring Monday morning as we gathered with over 50 change makers called together by Congressman Earl Blumenauer to talk about issues that matter to us all. Serving as the U.S. Representative for Oregon's 3rd congressional district since 1996, Congressman Blumenauer has been a relentless champion for sustainable, local food systems development, urban agriculture, and environmental and climate policies. One unforgettable moment was when his words turned into a powerful chant: “We pay too much to the wrong people, to grow the wrong food, the wrong way, in the wrong places.” As he prepares to retire at the end of 2024, Congressman Blumenauer's vision and legacy will be carried forward by everyone gathered today with Ecotrust at The Redd. Thank you, Earl, for your decades of service, bold leadership, and tireless advocacy for change. 🙌💚 #ThankYouEarl #OrganicIsTheAnswer #OrganicAgriculture #SustainableFuture #Climatesmart #Pollinators #OrganicallyGrown

Sundance Natural Foods in Eugene, Oregon, is one of the originals — a landmark and go-to spot for everything your body and the community need, all served up with heart and soul. Since the 1970s, we've been growing alongside this awesome store, sourcing from Northwest farmers and growing the organic movement. 🌱 After more than 45 years, our partnership is still going strong. We're thrilled they've joined us in becoming a Purpose Trust-owned company. 🌟 Big shoutout to OPB for telling their story!
