The Campinas region of Brazil has undergone seven droughts in the last decade. This has stressed the local watershed, which supplies 70% of the region’s water, including to São Paulo, Brazil’s largest city with over 11 million residents. Orbia and Microsoft are stepping in to help with a new water project in collaboration with Sanasa Campinas that will improve the abilities of public utilities to manage water efficiently, reducing leaks and operational failures. This is the first of several water resilience projects worldwide that Microsoft and Orbia, through its Building & Infrastructure business Wavin, are teaming up to address.
