We are a leading company managing the careers and touring activities of many of the world's greatest performing artists.

About us

Mission Statement: Identify, develop, and advance talent across the performing arts, connecting artists and communities worldwide. Opus 3 Artists is a leading company managing the careers and touring activities of many of the world’s greatest performing artists and ensembles. The company traces its roots to the pioneering role of the legendary Sol Hurok, the great 20th century impresario, whose dominant position in North America spanned half a century between the 1920s and 1970s. Its successor, ICM Artists, was formed in 1976 as a subdivision of International Creative Management and the company became independent again on November 1, 2006 as Opus 3 Artists LLC. Opus 3 Artists’ talented and respected team includes a dedicated staff of artist managers, booking representatives, marketing and tour production specialists, all sharing a common passion for artistic excellence. The focus of Opus 3 Artists’ roster includes instrumentalists, vocalists, conductors, composers, chamber music ensembles and touring chamber and symphony orchestras, as well as dance and theater companies, jazz, world and new music ensembles and artists. True to the Hurok legacy, Opus 3 Artists continues to be a leader in discovering, nurturing and developing young artists by helping to establish the network and foundation for their art and performing careers. The company is proud of the many impressive examples of this long-term commitment to young artists who have become major figures in the international cultural scene.

We are pleased to welcome Sean Mayes to our roster for worldwide general management. Born in Toronto and based in New York City, he enjoys an active and varied career internationally with his work as a conductor, music director, orchestrator, arranger, composer, author, and educator—spanning numerous musical styles throughout the world’s largest theaters and concert halls. Mayes is the incoming Worldwide Music Supervisor for Disney’s "The Lion King" and Music Supervisor & Co-Orchestrator for the Broadway bound "ALI: The Musical," composed by conductor Teddy Abrams & hip-hop legend Q-Tip, to premiere at the Nederlander Theater in Chicago in Spring 2025. Mr Mayes is also Music Director for Broadway luminary André De Shields. Recent highlights as a conductor and music director include leading the Tony Award®-winning productions "MJ: The Musical" and "Hadestown," the American Pops Orchestra in "Black Broadway: A Proud History, A Limitless Future" on PBS, "The Voice of Whitney: A Symphonic Celebration" at the Ravinia Festival with the Chicago Philharmonic, the new musical "Mandela," at the Young Vic, and the Finnish premiere of "Come From Away. Equally at ease in the classical world, Sean Mayes composed and orchestrated Aportia Chryptych: A Black Opera for Portia White alongside Canadian multidisciplinary artist HAUI. He also conducted its world premiere at the Canadian Opera Company in the 2023/2024 season. The Globe & Mail hailed its "sweeping, chameleonic score, solidifying Aportia Chryptych as a full-sized, big-room opera.” He is a member of the Recording Academy and has published three books on theater and music industry artists and leaders of color. He will serve as Music Director Designate in the upcoming season and officially begin his tenure with the 2025-2026 season. “In the search committee’s work to identify our next music director, it was clear to us that Giancarlo’s time with the Nashville Symphony has been extraordinary,” said Daniel Jordan, Sarasota Orchestra concertmaster and search committee member. “When committee members visited Giancarlo and saw his performances, it was obvious he has the special ‘it’ factor that allows him to truly connect with audiences.
