Feels a little odd posting this here (we love you LinkedIn) but who’s on Reddit? We are and we've just crossed the 1,000 members mark on our r/openphone subreddit 🎉 To celebrate, we're hosting our very first AMA there with our Head of Product Terrance Kwok! It's happening on Wednesday, October 9th at 11 AM PST / 2 PM EST on r/openphone 📅 Come with questions, feedback or just hang out with us as we chat about OpenPhone, our roadmap and maybe Terrance will give us an exclusive preview… See you there! 👋 (Link to our subreddit and AMA info in the comments ⤵️)

When you start a company, advice comes at you from all directions—everyone seems to know what you should do. And while mentorship and guidance are important, there’s something crucial about trusting your gut that often gets overlooked. Early on, it’s easy to assume that others know better, especially when you’re new to the journey. But ignoring your instincts can lead to some tough lessons. This was a lesson Jonathon Barkl, Co-Founder and CEO of AirGarage, learned early on. At the beginning of his founder journey, he found himself following the advice of others, instead of following his intuition. Over time, he came to understand that while outside perspectives are valuable, nothing can replace the inner clarity that comes from trusting your own vision. If you’re at the start of your founder journey, or want to learn more about following your gut, you have to check out the full “Founder to Founder” podcast episode on YouTube: https://lnkd.in/euzSAB47

Selfies or it didn’t happen 📸 Yesterday we had two of our West Coast hubs, San Fransisco and Vancouver, get together to co-work for the day. With our subtle editing skills, you wouldn’t even know they were co-working separately, in two different countries 😉

We’re excited to publish episode 3 of Founder to Founder Podcast today 🎙️ This time Daryna Kulya interviewed Jonathon Barkl, Co-Founder & CEO of AirGarage. Jonathon dropped out of college to build AirGarage with 2 friends. 6 years later, AirGarage is backed by world-class investors like a16z, and Floodgate and has scaled to 300 parking lots in 37 states. They serve hundreds of thousands of drivers every month (!) This episode is a deep dive into Jonathon’s journey building AirGarage. You’ll learn: - The critical role early customers play in shaping a startup - The benefits of selling before building a product - How to creatively “do things that don’t scale” - How founder-led sales became a core value at AirGarage - Common hiring mistakes (and how to avoid them) This episode is packed with actionable tips for early-stage founders and stories we know you’ll get inspired by. We love hosting our customers at our company All Hands. We love it even more when they have nice things to say about the product 😎 Kevin Parada, Founder of JP Auto Transport had so many great insights and feedback for us. ✔️ Simple ✔️ Streamlined ✔️ Efficient We hope this reflects experience that every single customer has with OpenPhone. Plus it’s nice to know they were able to help Kevin’s team save a lot of money in switching over from ***, too. If your team is using another platform for calling and texting customers, you gotta give OpenPhone a try and experience the difference like Kevin has 😉 openphone.com (going to leave this here in case)
