We make pharmacy accessible for everyone. At OneroRx, we are dedicated to restoring quality, affordable pharmacy care to underserved communities. There is not a pharmacy within reach for many Americans, either because the locally-owned pharmacy has shuttered or a chain pharmacy has moved out of the area. In fact, recent research indicates that there may be nearly 100 million Americans without sufficient access to a nearby neighborhood pharmacy. These individuals live in what is known as a "Pharmacy Desert." Like "food deserts" where it is difficult to buy affordable or good-quality fresh food, "pharmacy deserts" exist in communities lacking easy access to prescription medications and pharmacy advice. Without this access, residents in these communities face significant obstacles to obtaining vital prescription medications and accessing much-needed information relating to drug interactions, dosage, and potential side effects. Who we are: We currently provide personalized, quality pharmacy care to more than 200,000 customers in urban communities and rural areas from 60 pharmacies across six states. Our teams are focused on more than just filling prescriptions; they strive to provide an enhanced level of care to each patient that trust them with their health. Our efficient telepharmacy operations enable us to re-establish pharmacy care in these neglected markets, immediately and positively impacting community health and wellness.

Employee Spotlight: Meet Ashley Loeffelholz, PharmD, our Clinical Health Director! She has worked in community pharmacy since 2004. She graduated in 2008 from The University of Iowa College of Pharmacy and worked at Walgreens for four years as a staff pharmacist and manager. Ashley then went to NuCara Pharmacy to be a pharmacy manager of a compounding pharmacy for 12 years and their Director of Clinical Services for about 8 months before leaving to join OneroRx. Since May of this year, Ashley has been our Clinical Health Director, focusing on overseeing clinical operations across the company and working closely with state CPESN chapters to bring innovative clinical opportunities to community pharmacy. What excites her for the future, is to achieve the company's clinical goals and really enhance the overall patient experience. Pharmacists are highly qualified healthcare providers, and she wants to ensure everyone is able to practice at the top of their licenses. During her free time, you will find Ashley and her a husband at the softball fields for their two girls (ages 10 and 12). They also love to travel or just get outdoors!

Today’s Good News Friday focuses on Medicap LTC’s newest facility sign-on: YSS/Ember! YSS is one of Iowa’s largest and oldest youth-serving nonprofit organizations, focused on empowering youth through education, counseling, and stability. Their new Ember Recovery Campus, located in Cambridge, IA, provides crisis stabilization, emergency shelter, and residential addiction treatment for youth and young adults. Medicap LTC is proud to be their pharmacy of choice and is ready to help provide the youth of Iowa the services they deserve.
