Addressing Key Challenges in Healthcare Data Management and Digital Transformation Focus Session 1 of the AIM Connect Batch Program Last week, the first focus session of the second AIM Connect batch took place, diving into some of the most critical challenges in healthcare data management and digital transformation. Participants started by identifying specific challenges they’ve observed during clinical internships, encountered in their studies, or read about in recent news. This led to a rich interdisciplinary exchange of ideas, with participants sharing diverse perspectives on pressing issues. Adding depth to the discussion, Prof. Dr. med. Dirk Wilhelm - senior consultant surgeon at TUM and expert in minimally invasive and robotic surgery - shared his firsthand perspective on complexities and opportunities of digital transformation in clinical practice. He highlighted not only the technical challenges but also human factors, such as mental health impacts, increased workloads and managing expectations in a digitalized healthcare environment. A truly inspiring start to a program dedicated to tackling some of healthcare’s most urgent challenges!

💻 AIM CodeLab 2024: Programming Course for Medical Students and Professionals This semester break, we had the pleasure of hosting another AIM CodeLab programming course, and we were blown away by the huge demand we experienced. 🎉 30 participants, including medical students, PhD candidates, and senior physicians, all eager to develop their coding skills joined us for this programming boot camp weekend. The course introduced the fundamentals of programming with Python and provided an overview of Machine Learning techniques, such as linear, multiple, and logistic regression, as well as deep learning with neural networks and CNNs. Participants had the opportunity to apply these skills through hands-on exercises. A key feature of the course was demonstrating how AI tools like ChatGPT and Gemini can assist in clinical practice. A sincere thank you to everyone involved in making this event a success. We look forward to welcoming even more of you to our AIM CodeLab in September and to presenting further opportunities we’re currently developing to help boost your coding skills. Stay tuned! 🚀 #AIMCodeLab #ProgrammingForMedics #AIinHealthcare #MachineLearning #PythonProgramming #MedTech
