OPPD employees made a splash last week, diving into a dunk tank to raise over $3,500 for our Energy Assistance Program (EAP). 100% of EAP funds go toward helping customers struggling to pay their utility bills, and the program is entirely funded by generous donations from customers, employees and community partners. With demand for energy assistance increasing, especially during these hot summer months, this event highlighted the critical need in our community. A huge thank you to everyone who participated and donated to this important cause! 🥎💧

Meet Terry, Drafter at OPPD. 👋 Motivated by a desire to help create something that serves the community, Terry is proud that his last six years at OPPD have given him something tangible to point to and say, "I helped make that." ✏️💻 His typical day as a drafter consists of working on new drawings while fielding revisions to others, communicating with engineers and responding to miscellaneous requests. He loves seeing the plans he puts to paper be translated to the electrical grid that serves our customers. Drafters are the liaisons between engineers and the crews that install equipment, so clear communication and adaptability are key. Having an open mind is also useful when it comes to cultivating a broad knowledge base and effectively connecting with team members. Terry says that being a drafter is, "...all about accurate information. The more good information you have, the better decisions you can make.” 🧡
