We just finished reading the Bureau of Land Management’s draft update on utility solar practices for the Western United States. We were excited to see the Gemini Solar Project and Yellow Pine Solar Projects called out as following their recommended techniques for preserving the land. This Asian American & Pacific Islander (AAPI) Heritage Month, we honor Susie Halper, a key team member at Ojjo, Inc., driving structural excellence in the solar industry.   Susie's engineering journey began at the University of Maryland, drawn by her passion for tangible solutions in the built environment. Joining Ojjo offered her a chance to contribute to innovative solutions to long standing industry challenges.   As a Structural Project Engineer, Susie manages structural design projects from conception to construction, collaborating with both internal teams and external partners. She also plays a key role in shaping project pipelines and bidding strategies.   What sets Susie's experience apart at Ojjo is the energizing #teamculture and the opportunity to tackle challenging problems daily. Notably, the engineering design for some of our key projects, have showcased her ability to lead under tight deadlines, while fostering collaboration across the company.   For aspiring engineers, Susie emphasizes the importance of learning from industry veterans, leveraging their expertise to navigate the solar industry's complexities.   Beyond her professional pursuits, Susie enjoys playing soccer and solving crossword puzzles, balancing her dedication to excellence with personal passions.   Susie Halper's journey embodies resilience, innovation, and collaborative spirit. We’re continuing our celebration of #WomensHistoryMonth by shining a spotlight on the incredible women who drive innovation and excellence at Ojjo. Meet Emma T, one of our talented engineers, who embodies dedication and innovation in her work.   Emma chose to study engineering because of her love for math and physics and her desire to apply these subjects in practical ways. She finds the problem-solving and collaborative aspects of engineering particularly enjoyable, making her a valuable member of our team.   Joining #Ojjo was a natural choice for Emma. She was at a point in her career where she wanted to work on something she cared about, and our goal of revolutionizing large-scale solar energy through innovative foundation technology caught her attention.   What Emma enjoys most about being a team member at Ojjo is the ability to design, prototype, and test products all within the same week. Our in-house machine shop and test lab allow for quick iteration of designs, keeping things exciting and dynamic.   For people considering a career in the solar industry, Emma offers this advice: "It makes a difference to work on something you care about. Continuing our celebration of #NationalEngineersWeek, meet Justin Rimbach, a senior structural project engineer on #TeamOjjo. Justin has always had an interest in taking things apart to figure out how they work – which made him a great fit for engineering. He started at Ojjo as an intern while working toward his master’s degree in Structural Engineering. During this time, he quickly realized the impact he could have in contributing to Ojjo’s work, recognizing the important role the company plays in developing our nation's clean energy resources. One of his proudest achievements is the work Ojjo has done on the Gemini Solar Project outside of Las Vegas. He highlighted, “One inspiring aspect of our work there is that we were able to minimize the project’s impact on the native environment by providing a significant reduction in site grading requirements.” Every day, Justin enjoys the challenge of solving diverse and impactful problems, envisioning a brighter future ahead. Ojjo is celebrating #NationalEngineersWeek with an interview spotlight of our team member and Mechanical Engineer, Clare Hillshafer.   Fascinated by discovering the inner workings of a piece of technology or mechanical system, Clare studied Mechanical Engineering at the University of Oklahoma. Soon after graduation, she joined the Product Development team at Ojjo, working on our innovative Earth Truss foundation system.   What have you enjoyed most about being a team member at Ojjo?   “The people! From day one I felt valued, respected, and supported not only in the office but out at jobsites as well. Everyone here wants to help you succeed, and the motivation from the entire team striving to make Ojjo prosper in the solar industry is incredible. I can ask questions, make mistakes, and most importantly learn.”   What is the Product Development team like?   “I can sum it up in one word: motivative. We all want each other to succeed, as well as our shared goal: Ojjo’s products. We span a diverse range of ages and backgrounds, ensuring we continuously learn from one another.”   What’s the most unique part about working here?   “The most unique part about working at Ojjo is being able to lead my projects every step of the way, from the whiteboard all the way to seeing my product used at jobsites.
