Our latest Careers Fair was beyond amazing🌟 We had an impressive lineup of over 40 departments from Octopus Energy, showcasing diverse career paths in engineering, tech, marketing and many more! 🚀✨ There were so many important and interesting discussions🗣️ these ranged from: how we can contribute to achieving net zero to creating wind turbines Inclusivity was a top priority! Our Future of Energy workshops give high school students from black and ethnic minority backgrounds a live, behind-the-scenes look at the wide-ranging, impactful careers available in green energy ✨ We wanted to tell you a little more about our latest one 🗣 Over two exciting days, a brilliant group of students visited our London HQ to hear directly from Octopus experts about Net Zero energy, their important place in the green energy future as well as invaluable career advice. Next, they took a day trip to our green R&D centre in Slough for a peek at our top secret green heat research, a state-of-the-art Electric Vehicle showcase 🚙 ( a super quick Tesla drive through Slough). We ended the workshop with a careers fair including over 25 different career fields in green energy from tech to engineering, where the students got to ask any and all questions to trailblazers in their fields 👩🏾🏫. We’re the Octopus Energy Equality Foundation (OEEF) – an official charity focused on making the energy industry more diverse, inclusive and sustainable. We’re passionate about building a future powered by green energy, but we know climate justice is intrinsically connected with social justice. That’s why we’re committed to creating opportunities for young black and minority ethnic people to move into impactful careers in the green energy industry.
