🚧 Summer of Shovels: Progress in action! The NYSERDA team attended the groundbreaking of a Buildings of Excellence Competition winner! Castle III, developed by The Fortune Society and designed by Curtis Ginsberg Architects, will be a 15 story, 83 unit building in East Harlem. The all-electric building has been designed to meet passive house criteria with rooftop solar panels to supplement grid-based electricity. Air source heat pumps will provide heating, cooling, and hot water. The entire project will be built to meet the ENERGY STAR and Enterprise Green Communities standards. #SummerofShovels

The 2024 State of the Science Workshop, hosted by the NYSERDA Environmental Technical Working Group, will take place on Long Island from July 16th-19th. During our Summer of Shovels were highlighting how clean energy projects come to life across New York! Recently, NYSERDA President and CEO Doreen Harris visited East Point Energy Center, a 50-megawatt solar project located in the Town of Sharon in Schoharie County. Owned by NextEra, the project facilities will include commercial-scale solar arrays, access roads, electric collection lines, and electrical interconnection facilities. NextEra Energy Resources is one of the largest generators of renewable energy from wind and solar projects. #SummerofShovels
