JUST ANNOUNCED: For WNYC’s100th Birthday, New Yorkers will hear some unexpected voices during their daily commutes. Starting on Monday, July 8 and running for three days, beloved WNYC hosts Brian Lehrer, Michael Hill, and Brooke Gladstone will share WNYC and NYC trivia in announcements on the L train and on 350 station platforms across the city. Did you know that WNYC helped the city set the noise volumes for NYC ice cream trucks? Have you ever heard our classic interview with a Staten Island fish? Wonder what the official position of the Society to Prevent Disparaging Remarks about Brooklyn was in 1948? Hear all about it … on the subway! POLITICO's Nick Reisman has the scoop: https://lnkd.in/egH-imGh Also on July 8, the Mayor’s Office will issue a City Proclamation commemorating WNYC’s years of service to the city.
