Founded in 1925, NVC is Greater Washington's most influential business organization with a mission of advancing business and impacting policy across the Region. Today, representing close to 500,000 employees, the diversity of our community is one of our greatest assets, offering opportunities to learn from one another and form personal connections that help guide lasting business growth. NVC’s goal is to be considered not only a business partner but also an agent of change for our members. We do this through our work in government advocacy, education through events and programs, networking, promotion of member businesses, and recognition through awards. We are proud to have worked together over these many years to build a meaningful association that enriches our community and look forward to continuing that good work.

    Through their generosity, our NVC members continue to make a positive impact on our Greater Washington community. We recently showcased some of our members' good work in our Positively NOVA! newsletter, and will share their stories individually, here. Today, we're featuring, "Verizon’s Recent Volunteers Support Children's Science Center Lab. Verizon partnered with the Children's Science Center Lab at Fair Oaks Mall in Fairfax to host "Bell's Birthday Bash!” in honor of Alexander Graham Bell's birthday, V-Teamers led youth and their families through hands-on activities connected to the history of telecommunications. Verizon's training team created the activity, supplied employee volunteers to run the project, brought the materials including a payphone math problem using an actual payphone, a fiber optic cable laser demonstration, and a 5G Wi-Fi puzzle game."     Thank you to all who joined us for today’s State of Transportation event! NVC, the Northern Virginia Transportation Alliance, and transportation leaders explored today's transportation issues, focusing on paths that improve Regional transportation, including the financial sustainability of WMATA, accommodating the impact of telework on public transit systems, and the role of local bus and bus rapid transit networks in our Region.
