In 2021, NV5 made a five-year commitment of $275,000 to award scholarships through the National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE). Founded in 1975, NSBE is one of the largest student-governed organizations in the United States, dedicated to empowering collegiate and pre-collegiate students, as well as technical professionals in engineering and technology. The organization strives to foster a diverse and inclusive community of future engineering leaders. This year’s recipients were selected based on criteria including personal essays, academic achievements, community engagement, and professional endorsements. These individuals exemplify the values of NSBE, striving to become culturally responsible engineers who excel academically and contribute positively to their communities and professions.

NV5 ANNUAL MEETING | EVOLVING. ADAPTING. PROGRESSING. Our International office leaders from Hong Kong, Dubai and India recently attended our Annual Meeting in Las Vegas meeting peers from the organization to share experiences, performances from over the last year, and to strategize what the future holds for individual markets, sectors and disciplines. Between strategy meetings the team met with our clients in the US as well as visiting multiple NV5 offices and were given a special tour of our Geospatial office in a Helicopter Hanger. It was standing room only at Drew Markewicz's presentation on "Utilities and Transportation - Bridging the Gap - Observations, Lessons Learned and Solutions during yesterday's The American Council of Engineering Companies of New Jersey - ACECNJ 2024 Annual Fall Conference! Drew is NV5's NJ Director of Highways and Utilities whose insights into the challenges and solutions in bridging the gap between utilities and transportation were both enlightening and actionable, leaving attendees with valuable takeaways to implement in their own practices. Drew provided a historical perspective on how transportation agencies, utility companies, and consultants perceive the utility process; observations and lessons learned while working "on both sides of the fence" representing both transportation agencies and utility companies. Drew also included a summary of how his identification of a missing civil engineering discipline that is utilities contributed to the creation of ASCE's Utility Engineering and Survey Institute (UESI). Roundabouts are versatile in size, shape, and design and can substantially reduce crashes that result in serious injury or death by promoting lower speeds, calming traffic, and reducing conflict points. In honor of Federal Highway Administration's #RoundaboutsWeek, here's a few of our recent roundabout projects. John Ward Road at Irwin Road, Cobb County, GA; I-95 widenings for NCDOT in Robeson County, NC (I-6064 and I-5987A,B); Eastway Drive at Shamrock Drive Intersection for City of Charlotte, NC; Water Street Improvements for NCDOT in Lumberton, NC (U-5524); Post Oak Tritt Road at Hembree Road in, Cobb County, GA; and NC 225/ SR 1164 (Erkwood Drive)/SR 1779 (Shepherd Street) for NCDOT in Hendersonville, NC. Roundabouts are one of the many intersection designs that NV5's roadway engineers, traffic engineers, and planners utilize to meet our clients goals.

The $290 million contract is a five-year, multiple-award indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity contract to monitor global economic and environmental activity, as well as military capabilities. https://lnkd.in/gikXZ9j7 The contract will leverage commercial computer vision and artificial intelligence capabilities and will integrate into analytic workflows for the national security community’s operational use.
