We're thrilled that Nurse-Family Partnership in Texas was highlighted in a CBS National News segment, showcasing how the support NFP nurses provide families changes the lives of parents and babies. In this segment, you’ll meet NFP nurse Megan Wheeler from Texas A&M, who works tirelessly to ensure that first-time moms like 16-year-old Eva and her adorable 1-year-old son, Mateo, are thriving. Follow Nurse Megan on a typical home visit as she checks in on Eva and Mateo’s health and well-being. Angela Montez MSN, RN, Nursing Practice Manager for the National Service Office for Nurse-Family Partnership and Child First, also shares how NFP nurses have made critical interventions to save the lives of women and children. Don’t miss out on this inspiring story—watch the video to see how Megan’s support is helping Eva navigate motherhood with confidence and care. 🎥 https://lnkd.in/eU57ehHw

Exciting news! Last month, the Illinois General Assembly approved the FY25 state budget, increasing investments in home visiting programs. Highlights include: • $5M ( 21.8%) for evidence-based home visiting at IDHS, enabling program expansion. • $75M ( 11.1%) for Early Childhood Block Grant programs, supporting 3 NFP sites. • $14.2M to establish the Illinois Department of Early Childhood, streamlining funding access. We're thrilled to see these funding levels match our advocacy efforts! #EarlyChildhood #HomeVisiting #IllinoisBudget

A message from Charlotte Min-Harris, President & CEO of The National Service Office for Nurse-Family Partnership and Child First: As we celebrate Pride Month, we are proud to reaffirm our heartfelt commitment to serving everyone, however they identify. This month honors the courage, resilience, and contributions of the LGBTQ community. At the NSO, we are passionate about creating a space where each person feels respected, valued, and seen for who they truly are. Inclusivity is not just a value we hold; it’s a fundamental part of who we are. We strive to foster an environment where everyone feels respected, regardless of gender identity, sexual orientation, or any other aspect of identity. One way we do this is by encouraging staff and partners to use inclusive language that acknowledges and embraces the diversity of human experiences. The Nurse-Family Partnership and Child First programs support families in living their authentic lives and following their dreams, nurturing a welcoming and accepting environment. By embracing inclusive language and affirming diverse identities, we help create a space where everyone can thrive. This Pride Month – and every day – let’s celebrate the strength and beauty of each individual as we work together to build a more inclusive and equal society where every voice is valued.
