D219 educators create clear paths for success inside and outside of the classroom. The Niles North HS Girls’ Cross Country team nominated their coach, Lizbeth Roman, for the Chicago Bears “Classroom Legends” award. Coach Roman, a World Languages teacher, was honored for going above and beyond for students! Bears wide receiver Tyler Scott surprised Roman with a classroom donation, a personalized football and tickets to a Bears game!

We are excited to introduce our Staff Spotlight Series. Each month, we will highlight outstanding staff members from our district recommended by their students and colleagues. This month, we are highlighting the inspiring Davone Robinson, a dean at Niles North! Fully devoted to his students, Mr. Robinson shines as a true example of student advocacy. In addition to leading an impactful D219 HBCU trip to Tennessee, he also sponsors Niles North's Black Student Union and Green Thumbs Club. Mr. Robinson’s dedication truly knows no bounds and we are lucky to have him at D219.

Join us in congratulating Dillin Randolph, for his recognition as the 2024 Cook County Co-Regional Teacher of the Year! Dillin is also a member of a cohort of thirteen finalists who are eligible for the state's top honor - 2024 Illinois Teacher of the Year. Later this spring, Illinois State Superintendent, Dr. Tony Sanders, will select the 2024 Illinois Teacher of the Year out of the 13 finalists. We, of course, are rooting for Dillin. Please join us in cheering him on. There is also a lot of excitement at Niles North in celebration of Brett Bildstein, Athletic Director and Caroline E. Benjamin, Student Activities Director. Both are recipients of the Administrator Award of Meritorious Service. This award is presented to educators who have connected with their school community and have made a positive impact. We are incredibly proud of these three distinguished D219 colleagues. Please join us in congratulating Dillin, Brett and Caroline. Find ISBE’s press release here: https://lnkd.in/gzA3VNEi #D219
