Our Mission: To close the hunger gap in North Texas by providing access to nutritious food.

About us

The North Texas Food Bank (NTFB) is a top-ranked nonprofit hunger-relief organization operating a state-of-the-art volunteer and distribution center in Plano— the Perot Family Campus. Last year, the Food Bank worked hard in partnership with member agencies from our Feeding Network to provide access to almost 77 million nutritious meals across a diverse 13-county service area— this means more than 200,000 meals per day for hungry children, seniors and families. But the need for hunger relief in North Texas is complex and in order to meet the need the NTFB is working to increase our food distribution efforts. Our goal is to provide access to 92 million nutritious meals annually by 2025. For more information, visit ntfb.org. NTFB is a member of Feeding America, a national hunger-relief organization. This institution is an equal opportunity provider. https://ntfb.org/usda-nondiscrimination-statement/

Eric Ng is never bored when he’s at the North Texas Food Bank. The Junior Kernel, which requires 64 hours of services at NTFB, volunteers up to three times a week during the summer, including at Kids Camp, where he helps teach 8 to 11-year-olds about hunger in their community. “There is never a dull moment,” says Eric, a rising senior at Plano Senior High School. When the Rotary Club of Park Cities’ annual Fourth of July Parade returns this Thursday, it promises to make a big impact on North Texans facing hunger. Since 2016, the North Texas Food Bank has been the beneficiary of the Rotary Club of Park Cities’ Fourth of July Parade. To date, the club has raised enough money to provide access to 1,717,918 meals for children, families and older adults facing hunger in the NTFB’s 13-county service area. This year’s parade will kick off at 9 a.m. July 4 at Highland Park Town Hall. The parade will include antique cars, firetrucks and first responders, high school groups, community floats and a bike decorating contest. The honorable Joel Williams is serving as Grand Marshal. The parade ends at Centennial Park, formerly Goar Park, where there will be a festival. Thank you for all you do, Park Cities Rotary Club ! https://lnkd.in/gmTfZwsN

Throughout June, Citi employees globally participate in the Global Community Day campaign taking positive actions to impact the local communities they serve. This month, Citi strengthened its 20-year North Texas Food Bank partnership through several initiatives that will provide access to more than 250,000 nutritious meals for our neighbors experiencing hunger. This included an onsite meal packing event at the Citi Dallas campus with 800 employees, volunteer participation in the Food Bank’s 4th annual Nourish North Texas Telethon, and a group from the Women’s Inclusion Network lent a helping hand to sort and pack food for neighbors across North Texas. Thank you, Citi for generously supporting the North Texas Food Bank with your time and resources! #CitiVolunteers #CitiDallas #GlobalCommunityDay

How do you show your Pride? 🌈 At Dallas Hope Charities’ Hope Center, LGBTQIA young adults are not only offered a safe place to live but also a community meant to help them grow. “There is a huge need for this group, especially in Texas,” says Jordan Rodriguez Torres, housing program manager who uses the pronouns they/them. Young adults can also work with NTFB’s Social Service Assistance navigators so they can apply for SNAP, and they can enroll in mental health counseling. And just like in any home, Jordan says groceries are crucial. NTFB provides food for the Hope Center and Food Bank staff recently worked with Jordan and their team to establish a garden where they can grow food and teach residents to compost.
