We were thrilled to have Gen. Tom Middendorp, former Chief of Defense of the Netherlands, at the embassy yesterday for a talk about his book, “The Climate General,” which takes us on a journey from the frontlines, showing how our changing climate disrupts fragile regions around the world. It reveals how extreme droughts, water scarcity, and natural disasters accelerate conflicts and instability. Middendorp focuses on concrete, actionable solutions, and shows the power of #cooperation and #innovation. #climate #TheClimateGeneral
