Offshore wind is a rapidly growing market here in New York State💨🍃 The Consulate hosted offshore wind professionals and communities for a summer networking reception to connect on the many opportunities this offers for both NL and the US. Together with our partners Offshore Wind Innovation Hub, the South Street Seaport Museum, and NYU Tandon School of Engineering, we welcomed our network at the tall ship Wavertree. Consul General Ahmed Dadou: “Offshore wind brings out many Dutch strengths. We are famous for Dutch design and offer an ecological approach to developing and installing wind turbine components. We cannot do this alone. Like every complex process – especially in Energy Transitions – we do this collaboratively, with other companies, with governments, with researchers and experts around the world, like the people that gathered tonight.” The sector is booming in northeast USA. Late 2023 New York State activated the first commercial scale offshore wind park in the Empire State. And just last week a new NY State project Beacon Wind received its final federal permit. Already more than 20 Dutch companies are actively working to help to build these projects in the USA. The Consulate provides support and advice in this process to establish and grow the US-based supply chain of professionals, trades, equipment and service providers. #Netherlands #innovation #sustainability

Pride 2024🏳️🌈: “From the Streets to the Heart.” Thousands of LGBTQIA youths in NYC experience homelessness. Dutch photographer Ernst Coppejans captured 30 people and their courageous stories. Presented by Photoville and our FUTURE 400 program, the project showcases the resilience, courage and beauty of those who have been marginalized and made invisible by society. We honored Ernst Coppejans and non-profit New Alternatives, together with Photoville, at our 2024 Pride event in the heart of the West Village. The project offers a thoughtful understanding of their experiences, provides a voice to those who have been voiceless and allows the world to understand the challenges they face on a daily basis. The project serves as a powerful call to action, demanding attention to the urgent need for positive change Visit the exhibition at Horatio & Hudson Streets through September and hear all the stories here: https://lnkd.in/gKWqmU-N
