Minister Oduber is here in Miami for a week of strategic meetings, focusing on the future of tourism for the beautiful island nation 🏖️ Our discussions centered around exciting new opportunities for Aruba and the cruise industry. Aruba is committed to sustainable tourism, with a focus on installing shore power at their ports. This innovative approach would allow docked cruise ships to connect to the island's electrical grid, significantly reducing air pollution ♻️️ The Consulate General and Aruba have a long history of close cooperation, and this visit further strengthens the partnership between Florida and Aruba. We connected with the Dutch presence and explored the latest advancements in the healthcare sector. Florida’s focus on innovation in healthcare is also reflected by the visit of Jason Weida, Secretary of the Agency for Health Care Administration, to the Netherlands. This visit underscored the shared interest between the US and the Netherlands in forging collaborations within the healthcare sector. It’s a wrap... the Sports Tech Innovation Bridge to the United States (STIB-US) edition 23/24, a program designed by SportsNL and Consulate General of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Miami (Maurice Ouderland), has reached its conclusion. After a year of preparation, 6 online workshops, 2 selection rounds, and a final pitch at the KNVB, the five winning Dutch companies (alphabeats Butlaroo GSES - Global Sustainable Enterprise System Metrica Sports Sorama) visited Miami and Dallas and unlocked the full meaning and potential of the program. May 13-15 concentrated on Miami and the South Florida sports ecosystem. We kicked-off with a Miami Marlins Stadium visit, and a sports Luncheon at the CG Miami Residency. At the Alan B. Levan | NSU Broward Center of Innovation ‘the five’ trained, got inspired, networked and pitched in front of a live audience. May 16-18 the journey continued in Dallas, where there were 1 on 1 network meetings, besides another round of training and preparation. STIB-US concluded Friday May 19th with the University of North Texas World Cup Innovation Summit where sports panels mixed with presentations by the Dutch companies. The stay in Friso, Dallas was concluded in true Texas style at the Truck Yard with lots of BBQ, Tex-Mex and a few 😊 drinks. We look back on with a lot of pride. We managed to put a program together which has provided meaningful information, experiences and value for Dutch enterprises who want to do business in sports in the US. So far it already has delivered business leads for the 5 who came to the US. We hope their opportunities will turn into successful partnerships and deals, that would be the icing on the cake for them, and this program!
