What a high-energy NYC Climate Week this has been! The NineDot team attended some great events hosted by Canary Media Inc. and more, and took part in two gatherings that highlighted how we're bringing our expertise in stationary battery storage to new areas. On Wednesday, we had the pleasure of co-hosting a happy hour with our friends in the battery and EV industries, including NYC School Bus Umbrella Services, Inc, The AES Corporation, Transit Tech Lab, Cummins Inc., and The Mobility House. It was a great evening of conversation and collaboration. Supporting EVs and the broader electrification of transportation is critical to NYC’s energy transition and we're excited about projects we have in the works. On Thursday, we celebrated our award from The Clean Fight Energy Storage Capital Challenge, which will help fund an exciting new mobile battery project in NYC. This project features NY-manufactured batteries from Viridi — also part of the New Energy New York supply chain database — and will demonstrate the financing, permitting, and leasing of mobile batteries in dense urban areas. These batteries offer a cleaner alternative to diesel generators, reducing pollution in environmental justice communities. Even well-funded developers like us need support to pursue innovative or smaller projects, and we’re grateful to work with such committed partners and organizations as we expand beyond stationary storage into mobile batteries and electric vehicle charging. #NYCClimateWeek #EnergyStorage #CleanEnergy #BatteryStorage #Sustainability #NineDotEnergy #EVCharging #ElectricVehicles

Creating distributed clean energy solutions for the urban grid
About us
NineDot Energy creates innovative energy solutions that make the urban grid cleaner, more equitable, more resilient and less costly. Our current development focus is on building and operating battery storage sites in the New York City metropolitan area, including Westchester and Long Island. We are working to enable vehicle-to-grid (V2G) capabilities at our projects as well. The NineDot Energy name derives from the classic mathematical puzzle for sparking out-of-the-box solutions. Our “outside the box” creativity combines business model innovation and community-centered solutions to catalyze clean energy projects in high-value parts of the electric utility grid. Based at the NYU Tandon School of Engineering Urban Future Lab in Brooklyn, New York. We have received financial support from the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), the New York State Energy Research and Development Agency (NYSERDA) and the Carlyle investment group, among others.

Last week, we had the privilege of attending the FDNY Foundation Annual Dinner at the Fire Department’s training center on Randalls Island. The event gave us the chance to hear from the remarkable FDNY members who work tirelessly to keep New York safe every day. Their dedication and expertise, particularly in setting the highest safety standards for battery storage site design, continue to inspire us at NineDot as we diligently follow their lead. We were also honored to join guests from across industries, including Harvey Schwartz, CEO of The Carlyle Group and the evening's honoree. Carlyle, which provided our initial equity capital nearly three years ago, has been instrumental in our growth and mission. We left the event with a renewed sense of pride in supporting such a vital institution and the brave individuals behind it. #FDNY #FDNYFoundation #NewYorkCity #CleanEnergy #Sustainability #EnergyTransition #NYCCleanEnergy

Exciting news from earlier this summer! NY Green Bank has doubled its commitment to NineDot from $25 million to $50 million, fueling our mission to expand community-scale battery storage projects across NYC. ⚡ Learn more:
ICYMI: This summer, NY Green Bank closed an upsized revolving credit facility with NineDot Energy, the leading developer of community-scale battery storage projects in New York City. NY Green Bank doubled its commitment to NineDot to a total of $50 million. This financing will help fund NineDot’s rapidly growing pipeline of battery storage projects. The facility fills a market gap by providing much-needed capital for the interconnection process for standalone energy storage assets. It has the potential to spur investment from other lenders in the market, creating a more attractive investment size for traditional commercial lenders. 🔋 Learn more in our transaction profile: https://lnkd.in/eD2eJCHX
