    Shoppers are seeking products that align with their values. Today, that includes sustainability. The fastest way to get there is to start with the packaging. Here’s a quick roundup of the 3 sustainable packaging trends: ♻️ 𝗧𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗱 𝟭: 𝗥𝗲𝗰𝘆𝗰𝗹𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗹𝘀 Despite the many creative and technological advancements in green packaging products, a simple shift to more recyclable materials — like plastic to paper — is still the best way to support a sustainable economy. When analyzing shoppers’ nonconscious reactions, we discovered that paper packaging with prominent sustainability claims (in this case, callouts on the packaging that says, “100% Plastic Free” and “I’m paper, recycle me!”) better engages shoppers compared to the plastic option for both the deodorant and chocolate brands. ♻️ 𝗧𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗱 𝟮: 𝗠𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗺𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘀𝘁 𝗽𝗮𝗰𝗸𝗮𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗴 Simple streamlined design comes with the extra benefits of using fewer materials and have less waste. And from the three layers of packaging, finding a way of removing the secondary packaging was found to be the simplest way to go. ♻️ 𝗧𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗱 𝟯: 𝗥𝗲𝘂𝘀𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗽𝗮𝗰𝗸 𝗱𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻 In the case that you need to defend the use of plastic, go with reusable packaging. Re-fillable packaging, or re-purposing for a different use adds value to the product both in functionality and sustainability.
