No acces?? No problem. This #ThrowbackThursday post is dedicated to all the ways that our crews overcome access challenges. Sometimes just getting to the site can be a challenge. And sometimes, like in the case of Montana's Flower Creek Dam, accessing the parts of the site that actually need the work is a whole other challenge. The Rocky Mountain crew had to get creative and set up shop slopeside to install approximately 3,100 linear feet of grout curtain for construction of the new Flower Creek Dam. ⚡ More Power to You, Michigan! ⚡   We’re on the scene in Michigan working for a private utility at one of the largest remaining coal-fired plants in the country- one that provides electricity to over 700,000 southeast Michigan residents! To be in compliance with new federal regulations, a new dry conveyor belt and storage bunk is being constructed to hold discharged bottom ash.   Our crew is installing CFA piles to depths of 56 feet to support the new equipment and bring the plant into compliance.   We’re proud to be on the job to help keep our fellow Michiganders/Michiganians Powered UP! It's another #TeamTuesday sendoff for another legendary colleague! This month, we're celebrating the retirement of a person whose expertise is matched only by his ability to evade the camera for two decades. Photos of our friend and colleague, Paul Krumm, may be hard to find - but his contributions to the company are not. Some of Paul's greatest hits include his work at Wanapum Dam, Canton Dam, Rio Tinto's Kennecott Copper Mine and so many more. His problem solving skills, passion for this work and dedication to quality are unmatched. Paul, we'll have big shoes to fill in your absence. We'll always have the three pictures of you, mostly in groups, that we acquired over twenty years to hold onto 😆 In all seriousness, the story of Nicholson could never be told without you. When your in-office view looks like an Out of Office view... Deep (DEEP) in the heart of Orla, Texas, our crew is busy rehabbing the 87-year-old Red Bluff Dam. The full length of the embankment dam's foundation (up to 9,00 linear feet!) is being sealed with a grout curtain in up to three rows along the dam at depths of up to 200 feet. This would be a tough job at any site, but in the remote and challenging landscape of Orla, it requires meticulous planning, coordination and a little bit of creativity.
